The ride back is mostly filled with Stiles rambling about his job. He had gotten a new case in the place that I ran to (which I have yet to find out the name of) and it was his first case that he got to do alone. He had just recently been promoted to a supervisory special agent or something like that. I hadn't really been listening to the fine details of his speech.
But it is somehow pleasant to hear Stiles ramble. It gives my brain something to focus on other than my own thoughts.
"So, I texted my dad and he said that I can just drop you off at his house, okay? Is that good with you?" Stiles asks interrupting his own rambling.
"Sound great," I say.
Anywhere in that town is better than the place my dad died. Even though I'm going back to Beacon Hills I don't think I'll ever be able to muster up the courage to return to that place. And to think, something about that lacrosse field used to bring me comfort. It used to brighten my day when I went to lacrosse games (even if I wasn't playing). But now I know every time now that I look at that field it'll just make me relive that day over and over and over again.
Stiles continues rambling breaking me out of my thoughts. I had been wrapped up in my mind for so long that I also didn't realize how close we were to Mr. Stilinski's house. I look out the window at Beacon Hills. Despite all the pain, it gave me and still gives me, I never truly realized how much I missed this place.
We pull up to Mr. Stilinski's house and I get ready to get out of Stiles's car.
"Well If you ever need me you know where I'll be. Actually, here's my number," Stiles says and hands me his phone to put his number in my phone. I then hand him his phone back and take one leg out of his car.
"Stay safe kid."
"I'll try."
I now fully step out of the car and take in my surroundings; Beacon Hills. I'm home.
