Welcome to Burn the Evidence, my 2023 entry to the Open Novella Contest, based on prompt 21:
One dark and stormy night a family went missing, they left everything behind. All their belongings including phones, laptops, and cars. Nobody, not even the police could figure out what happened so the case goes unsolved for 10 years, that is until you receive an unknown call. You must figure out who did it, if the family is still alive, and how you expose what happened.

The disappearance of 22 year old diner waitress Jamie Clark and her son Tyler is a cold case closed 10 years ago, until a phone call dialed to the wrong number causes Ava to be spun up in the secret life of Jamie and the secrets she was keeping from the world in order to save the mother-son duo before their kidnapper grows bored of the game they are playing.

I'm so excited to go on this journey with Ava! There will be some heavy content in the following chapters: kidnapping, murder, violence, and prostitution. (the last won't be described in detail- but it's a big part of the final picture) I love reading murder mysteries, and so I can't wait to write one!
