This was my submission to #ONC2023.It is loosely based on the prompt number 72: On the twilight of their 16th birthday, a shy bookworm escapes their surprise birthday party to find refuge in their favorite library. While walking through the shelves in search of a good read, they stumble onto a peculiar book that changes their life.
I would like to dedicate this book to my mother, who passed away in 2015. Even though our relationship was complicated, I miss her terribly.
I would like to thank those who have helped me on my journey. To the book club members of White Tigress Book Club, For The Writings/Read it and Weep! Book Club, and Shut up and Read Book Club. I wouldn't have found the push to keep going without you.
To my husband, Michael, my biggest supporter and love of my life, who helped me plan and come up with some elements in this story.
To my best friend, Ella, who is always there to lend an ear and who encourages me to keep going. Who gushes over all the covers I make (and I make so so many 😂) love you so much.
Thank you all for reading.
