un sank lower in the sky, the light of the day draining away, giving away to the velvety dark of the night. Crickets chirping, dusky colours subdued in the fading light.
"Are you sure about this?" she looked down at the not-so mini dress she was wearing.
"Akshu, you're looking damn hot! And it's a pub. You gotta dress up like this." Aarohi said, giving her make-up a finishing touch.
"Bade papa's gonna kill me!" Akshara muttered.
"Only if he sees you! He's staying late at work tonight!" Aarohi gave herself a last look in the mirror.
"I know. But, I just have this bad feeling!" Akshara told her.
"God! Grow up, girl. Anyway, I dont have time for your tingles. Let's go." she said, almost dragging her down the stairs.
They made sure not to make a peep as swarna was sleeping, and they didn't wanna get caught. They were about to get in the car when aarohi shouted in excitement.
"Abhi!" Aarohi squealed, and now Abhimanyu's attention was drifted towards them.
He didn't notice Akshara at first but as he slowly approached them he was shooked to see her like this, he couldn't help but stare at how hot she was looking but still her innocence was evident.
"It's so good to see you!" Aarohi hugged him as Akshara got an unsettling feeling in her stomach.
"Hey, it's been a long time!" Abhimanyu replied, breaking the hug, his eyes never leaving Akshara.
"Are you guys going somewhere?" he couldn't help but ask.
"Yeah, we're sneaking out. I got invited by my friends at a pub nearby and I'm taking akshara with me." She replied, looking at akshu.
"Oh!" he couldn't think of how to respond.
"Do you wanna go with us?" Aarohi asked.
"Nah! You guys carry on." as much as he wanted to go with them and make sure that Akshara is safe, he couldn't. He didn't want to give her any hope.
"Well, see ya!" By saying this, aarohi dragged akshu towards the car, and they drove off.
As they reached their destination, Aarohi immediately got off the car and ran over to her friends who were waiting outside the pub for her. Akshara slowly got out of the car and made her way towards them.
"Guys, this is my best friend, Akshara." Aarohi introduced her. Akshara couldn't help but silently chuckle at the word Best-friend.
After a few more of her friends arrived, they were finally good to go inside. The whole group, along with aarohi, hurried inside the pub, totally forgetting the existence of Akshara.
As she pushed open the door, she felt herself being brought into a different world. The hinges squeal as though they are a warning, but their plea is silenced by a wall of noise.
Laughter overpowered the jukebox. Conversations swirled in a dirty cloud of smoke, and the stagnant stench of cigarettes hides within the collaboration of mephitic odours.
A sharp smell of drink waft towards her like the black plumes bellowing from the windows of a burning house. There's even a hint of sick tainting the fragrance of the room.
Akshara felt herself throwing up at the site of couples making out and grinding against each other. She pushed people as she made her way through, trying to find aarohi.
She was getting suffocated in this crowd, only if she knew how to drive she would've been gone by now but to her bad luck neither she knew driving, nor she had the car keys.
Her body immediately got tensed as she felt a hand snake around her waist. She turned around and saw a tall, brunette guy standing close to her with a drunk smile.
He pulled her closer to him and started swaying before she pushed him with all her force and ran into a corner. She took out her cell phone and dialled aarohi's number, but it was impossible for her to pick up in this loud music
Without even thinking for a second, she dialled Saiyyam's number. The third bell rang, and she was about to cut the call when she heard a voice on the other side.
"Saiyyam's sleeping. His mobile is on charging. Call him in the morning." It was Abhimanyu. His voice was stern and uninterested.
"Ab-abhi!" her voice cracked. He immediately recognized the fear in her voice.
"What happened?" he asked.
"Can you please come and take me? I wanna get outta here!" tears made their way to her cheeks.
He didn't reply and hung up the phone. She cried as she felt helpless herself. After fifteen minutes of standing alone in the corner, avoiding the seductive looks of guys, her phone chimed up with a message.
Abhi:Where are you?
She smiled in between her tears.
Opposite the bar!
She immediately replied and sighed in relief. She wiped away her tears before she saw a tall guy approaching her.
"Hey, beautiful!" he tried to touch her.
"I'm not interested." she replied.
"Oh, come on. It will be fun!" he smirked at her.
"Didn't you hear? Leave her alone!" Abhimanyu growled as he approached the scenario.
Akshara looked at him with moist eyes. Without even saying a single word, he grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the club.
"Get in the car!" Abhimanyu ordered her, and she obliged.
"Thank you!" she said as they were now on their way to home.
"Yes, you should be thanking me. After all, you ruined my night!" he said, and she looked at him shocked.
"I ruined your night?" she gasped.
"Yeah, I mean, you are the one who went to the pub dressed up so hot!" he blurted out and immediately regretted it.
"Stop the car!" she told him, but he didn't listen.
"Stop the car, I said!" she yelled, and he parked the car in the corner of an empty road. She got off the car, and so did he.
"What the fuck is this behavior? Get in the car!" he yelled.
"I'm not going with you!" she crossed her arms on her chest.
"Are you fucking nuts? It's two in the morning. You aren't getting any cab!" he stood face to face with her.
"I don't care. I'm not going with you. And anyways, I ruined your night right?" she looked at him.
"What? Look, I didn't mean it." he tried to make her understand but she wasn't having it.
"You said what you said. And why are you finding it hard to leave me here. You've done it before." she taunted referring to their past.
"You're crossing your limits." he gritted his teeth.
"Oh yeah, what you're gonna do?" she stood closer to him.
The next thing she knew, he had slammed his lips to her and nearly knocked all the air from her lungs. She hardly had a moment to react before he pressed his tongue to the seam of her lips, and at her grant of access delved inside her mouth.
It was a very sloppy kiss with the strong scent of old wine being exchanged in the intermingling of their bellowing breaths. Her arms reached up and tangled around his thick strong neck.
The kiss went on for a few seconds before they both pulled away out of breath. She pushed him back as he stumbled. She looked at him with tears before getting back into the car.
