Five years ago in the Homeroom of 9th grade - that's when I knew this was going to be a very bumpy ride. Looking out the window, with headphones looking as the cars passed by - looking at them having somewhere where to go, somewhere new to go.... While we're stuck in this binding prison they call school, others get to roam the world doing as they pleased. That's when my eyes met his.... glossy chestnut-eyes, and long dark black. He gave out the aurora of distance, and secrets. He was beyond handsome. "Good to meet you, where have you been?" Taking the seat next mine, he slouched back resting his legs on the table. "I'm Sophia and you are..." I smiled at him and he smiled back. He had that kind of glowing smile that could make someone fall in love. "Smitherman, Alex Smitherman"
"Class welcome to the new school year at Blue Water High School. I will be your homeroom teacher Mr. Mathews, let me be the first to welcome you. As I call each student up, one by one, I will be handing you all your class schedule. This will be the list of classes each student will receive this year. If for any reason you have a problem with one of your classes let the office know. If the office is able to help out they will be letting you know by the end of the day. Have a wonderful year here at Blue Water." Time seemed to travel quickly while I had been talking with Alex. Talking to him was like we were the only people in the room. "Sophia Castiel" Looking over my schedule, it read:
Math: Mr. Mathews English: Mr. Fitt ————Break———— Science: Miss. Calder History: Mr. Fitt ————Lunch———— Elective: Mr. Irwin P.E: Mr. Irwin
Mr. Mathews had dismissed his class soon after each student was given their class schedule. Some students had packed up and left while others stayed seated waiting for Mr. Matthews to go on with today's lesson. Although Alex had still been sitting next to me, he had not yet said another word in my direction. Alex had been watching the students entering the classes and begin taking their seats.
The teacher began class, going over what we would need in the following school year. As the teacher continued to inform us about the school year, a folded up piece of paper was placed on my desk. Opening the paper it read, "Hey what classes did you get. –A" Passing him my class schedule, he began writing notes on the paper. Then handing the paper back, the paper had check marks near a few classes. At the bottom it read, "We have Math, History, and P.E together."
The class took forever before we had been dismissed. Alex had been up and out of the class before anyone had even been out of their seats. Walking out of the class going and going to English, looking back all I saw was Alex disappear between the rush of people heading towards their next class. With my luck I was able to find the class before the late bell rang. The long gruesome period finally came to an end. The teacher went on and on about the story we were supposed to read over summer break. Giving the fact that I'm me and I don't care I didn't read it, so the period consisted of me pretending I knew what was going on.
Leaving the class, I went to go look for my friends. As I walked outside toward the field I saw a tall blonde girl dressed in dressy attire. I immediately recognized her as Britney. Along with Britney, Quinn, Lucy, and Abagail had been sitting under a palm tree. When they saw me walk up they greeted me with warm hugs and friendly smiles. Britney continued her conversation about her boyfriend and how much fun they had over summer break.
A lot of people wonder how a group of girls that are far from alike can get along as well as we do. Britney was a thin girl that had long golden blonde hair, and electric blue eyes. She was very beautiful she often loved wearing dresses and enjoyed listening to music. Quinn had honey brown hair and glasses over her chestnut brown eyes, she was never one that cared about her appearance for so she always had her nose in a book not letting the outside world affect her. Lucy unlike the other girls and dirty blonde hair, smoky grey eyes and was very athletic. Abagail had medium ash brown hair and dark forest green eyes. As I thought about all of my friends a strand of my jet black hair cascades down into the view of my ice blue eyes.
The conversation Britney was having snapped me back to reality she kept talking about her boyfriend Justin, she has been with since she was in 7th grade. Britney's boyfriend is a year older then her and is the caption of the JV football team. Britney is the only one that has a boyfriend in our group. Britney keeps trying to talk one of the girls to go one a date with one of Justin's friends. I guess no one has really been that interested in going on a date with his friends though.
The school bell rang signaling the end of break. The field that was once filled with people scattered about, was now empty. Looking back towards my schedule I noticed that the next class on the list was Science with Miss. Calder, ugh my least favorite class that and English. I mean I like when we do labs because that's Science. Reading from a book, that's not Science. That my friend is called is called English class. So if you're going to try teaching Science by reading a book I am not participating.
Entering the classroom noticing that this was not like my previous school years, I was very happy. Going to find my seat I noticed I was sitting next to this really cute guy that had curly licorice black hair and emerald green eyes. He introduced himself as Harry, you could tell that Harry was British by how his accent seemed to role carelessly from his lips while he talked. Harry seemed like a very nice, goofy guy. This class was far from what I originally expected it to be like. Time seemed to fly sitting next Harry. He kept making these really cheesy jokes that never failed to make me laugh.
The first day of school seemed to pass quickly after Science. I hadn't really spoken to Alex since Math class. During History, and P.E. Alex had been hanging out with the football team. During P.E. I hung out with Harry and his friend Louis. The two of them seemed like they were very nice goof balls. I had a lot of fun that day.
