I am hiding in a dark alley as I watch him stand on the other side of the street. I stayed and wait even I was freezing to death with my cream colored bustier top and black mini skirt. I forgot my coat in the club for being in a much hurry, just to catch up with him and find out if where could he be going.
Who could he be waiting for, at this kind of hour, in this kind of place? I check the time piece around my wrist and it states that it's already one a.m. and the street is empty.
Just as I move my eyes from the watch and back to him, a big black motorcycle rolls out with its engine silently purring and it stop in front of him. I cannot see the face of the driver -who's wearing black leather pants and jacket- not until he remove his helmet. My eyes widen and my mouth falls open when I figure out that he is not a he, but a she. And she is my friend, my best friend.
Michael! I screamed his name inside my head. I wish now that my speculations about him are wrong instead. How could he do this to me? How could he cheat on me over my best friend? And Ashley, How could she betray me and favor a man over our friendship? I want to burst in tears. I want to run to them and slap their faces with the disgrace that they've cause me.
But I control my anger. I'm supposed to leave now but my curious mind just don't allow me. Especially when he even told me to follow him here, not knowing that I was already here before he even say so. Now, I find myself wandering, following my boyfriend and my best friend on the building where they entered.
The building is pretty quiet and empty, as instructed, I need to go to the thirteenth floor. But I was told by him not to enter until he says but here I am now, on the elevator, waiting for it to bring me on the said floor.
The metal door slides open after the chime. I look from left to the right but saw no one around. I walk slowly, trying to avoid my boots to click on the floor. I walk on the left side from the elevator. I just had four steps ahead when I heard a loud thump from the other side of the floor.
It was then followed by more banging, glasses shattering and woods breaking. I don't know what had push me and made me go there. On the second door from the right, I peek in the gap of a slightly open door.
I saw Michael with his back on me. He lifted his hand with a gun and shoot someone on the floor. I gasp but I cover my mouth fast so no one can hear me. But to my surprise, the door swing open and a man is now staring dreadfully at me.
He yanks me on my arm and pull me inside the room. Ashley was so surprise to see me but anger is more evident on her face. While Michael is more horrified than surprise.
Things happened so fast. The next scenes are blurry, no longer sure if it's like a movie played in fast forward or slow motion. Either way, knowing this is not a movie scene is making me feel nauseous.
There were more killing and fighting around me until it is just Michael and Ashley left standing in front of me.
I hear siren outside, indicating police are approaching. I look at Ashley who is now taking a silver briefcase from Michael's hand. She was about to leave when suddenly, she had a change of mind.
She stood a yard away in front of me and rest the briefcase on the floor. I only notice a shotgun hanging on her back when she pull it up and bring in front of her. She pointed the gun in me as she cocks its load.
Michael was about to stop her but she already pulled the trigger. A strong impact hit me on my chest, making me loose my balance. I thought it's going to send me slumping down on the floor but the impact is too strong.
I didn't know that I was too close to the window. My back hit the floor to ceiling glass and it shattered into thousand pieces. I saw Michael screaming as I fall but I didn't hear any sound. Ashley rested the gun on her shoulder as she picks the briefcase and leave the shocked guy in the room.
He is getting smaller into my eyes until I can no longer see him. I feel the strong air against my back. At first, I thought I was flying but as I see from the corner of my eyes the approaching ground, I now realize that I am falling.
My body starts to get numb as the pain from my chest starts to go deeper. My back slams against a car roof, making the impact to break all its windows and windshield. The sound of distorting metal goes along with the sound of my breaking bones as they contact.
There were blue and red lights in my vision. People starts to gather around me. My sight is no longer clear. I can hear the word emergency, hopeless, dead and the longest that I could understand, if my brain is still functioning correctly are the words, I'll take her.
Did my best friend really never think twice in killing me? All around me went dark. All I hear are voices but they started to leave, sounds are fading until it's completely gone.
Is this the end of me?
