The transition from library to battlefield is overwhelmingly dizzy. We enter the portal, it sucks us into oblivion, surrounded by clouds and storms as we fall into nothingness. As we're falling, the scene around us changes as it becomes transparent, revealing our destination. We're still falling even though it looks like we're slowly appearing on the other side, and then as the new location completely appears, we fall on our feet as though we weren't even falling at the speed of light just a second ago.

"Oh," I say, losing my balance and falling on my ass in front of everyone.

"Hellios and Sephone, I need you both to return at once," Hissandra orders them as Hellios helps me back up.

"What? Why?" Hellios asks, giving her a confused scrunched face.

"Because," she starts, rising higher on her tail to see way above our heads, "this army is bigger than we expected. I need you both safe. You are not fighters. I need you alive."

"We can help," Sephone insists, grabbing Hissandra's hand gently.

Hissandra looks down at them, almost in a motherly way. There's fondness in her eyes, a deep care that I've never seen here in hell. It's comforting in a way, knowing that I landed with such good creatures.

"If I let you stay, do you promise to stay back?" They nod at her like two obedient children. "And if things get ugly, will you promise to run and not risk yourselves?" Again, they nod without a fight.

"This is gonna be rough," Krom says as he scans the army approaching.

I'm not as tall as Krom and Hissandra, so the only thing I can see in front of me is our own army. There are thousands of them just silently waiting, watching with eyes alert. There are monsters of all kinds with us. There are massive beasts of all sizes, unique bodies that no normal person has ever witnessed, colors and magic floating and bursting all around. It's crazy to me that this is happening, that this is my new life. As scary as it is to think of perishing forever, I smile at the excitement of what's to come.

I use my strength to raise myself above everyone else in a cloud of darkness. Since we're outside of the city, everything is mysteriously gray and foggy, but it's hard to miss the enormous army marching straight at us from the corner of hell. If they defeat us, they're going to take Monstro City and have an army ten times their current size. Maybe even more, Monstro City is the largest. It might as well be a planet.

As I focus on the enemy, I see their leader walking ahead of them, proudly displaying her cross necklace over her breasts. Her b-breasts?

I lower myself down to the ground immediately. "Okay, so I don't remember my past life, but I do remember many details of what life is like on earth, but I don't remember sexy nuns being a thing outside of Halloween."

"Hell doesn't follow the same rules of time and space as Earth does," Sephone tells me. "She's from the future. A future where religion has taken over, and thus, have updated their . . . uniforms."

"But her sexy legs are out. Her nun outfit is so . . . flashy, flowy, and beautifully adventurous. Doesn't it all kind of . . . defeat the purpose of the religion?"

She shrugs. "I don't know. I'm also from Earth and even I'm shocked, honestly."

If the nun is from the future, this means they've had a lot of time to find a way into hell. There's no way people from my time period were able to do anything productive like find a relic or a doorway into another universe. We were still having wars over the same stupid shit. But it seems like we may have lost if religion took over fully. That's not a good sign, but I am dead, so I don't care.
