Kyra woke up very early in the morning from a terrifying nightmare. She thought about the nightmare for a while, but it was nothing special to her. She had them quite often lately.
After lying in bed for a while, she got up and went to fix her hair.
She combed through her red messy hair, made a small ponytail in the back and put the left side of her hair in a clip. She walked outside where the sun was already shining. She plucked a yellow flower from the small flower bed in front of her house and put it behind her right ear.
On her way to her long-time companion, she went to visit her mother, who had been working at the tavern since early morning. She opened the tavern door and saw her mother wiping down the tables and getting ready to open it. "Hello, mother." Kyra said smiling as she saw her mom with a happy expression.
She finally seems to be okay, I haven't seen her happy since my father died.
The memory of her father made Kyra's heart ache slightly.
"Hello, my dear daughter..." She returned her greeting with a cute smile on her face. "Where are you headed?"
"Oh, just to see Zein, he has some work for me." Kyra replied. "Oh, have fun then. See you then." "See you later."
She walked out of the tavern and continued on her way to Zein, who was already waiting impatiently in his stone tower.
As she walked up the stairs to Zein's lab, she heard two muffled thumps on the table through the floor. She wondered if Zein might be in some kind of trouble, so she quickened her pace.
She opened the door to Zein's lab and noticed Zein standing with his hands resting on the table and underneath him was a vial of some sort with smoke coming out of it, she looked up at the ceiling and saw the black charred wood ceiling. "What in the name of all..flames happened here?" and started laughing out loud. Zein looked at her with an annoyed expression. "Hahaha, very funny.." He said to her in annoyance. "I haven't slept all night and I've been working on this potion, but obviously as you can see I've made absolutely no progress. My back hurts, apparently the roof took it, and the potion is smoking. That's the end of it."
Kara could tell from his words that he was completely wrecked from working on the strange liquid.
"So tell me what you need from me and go get some sleep... unless you called me about the potion."
"No, I didn't. I need you to take a package with a letter to a guy who ordered a pest control product here two days ago."
"Okay, that shouldn't be a problem. Where should I take it?"
"Just outside of town, he has a little cabin in the woods. You'll find it."
"Alriight, can I borrow your sword? Just in case." "Yeah, it's next to the door on the rack." He told her with a vehement tone. "See you later..." Kyra said goodbye. On her way out, she took her sword from the rack, sighed and left.
How could anyone work for so long? I don't understand.
She said to herself and started on her way.
