Tommy was running.

He could see trees going for miles.

He could hear the fast, light footsteps behind him.

He could smell blood and dirt.

He looked back, searching for the man with pink hair.

He was gone.

Tommy turned back to see white for a split second.

Then everything turned black.

When Tommy woke, he was expecting the harsh sun, the hard wood of the tree house he had lived in since he was eleven, the wind bashing against his face through the cracked walls. He was not however, expecting to wake up in a large bed, being cradled in the arms of "The Angel of Death" the leader of "the syndicate" one of the most feared vampires in all of L'Manburg, with something cold and metallic around his ankle.

//A.N. Tommy is a raccoon hybrid who has been taught from a young age to hide his features. Hybrids are rare, and tend to be sold off or abused. 1 in 10,000 are hybrids, and their features don't tend to grow in until they are around the age of 5\\

Tommy felt himself pale as he tensed up. If he had been showing his features, he was sure that his ears would be pressed flat against his head. He felt the vampire stir. Tommy froze, his breath catching in his throat. He didn't dare to move. He hoped, prayed even that the man would stay asleep. He didn't. The vampire looked down at him. Tommy slightly curled into himself, hoping to make himself smaller. Less threatening. The vampire had a happy grin on his face. It was unsettling to say the least.

"Hello mate." The vampire said happily. Tommy tried to shrink again. The vampire didn't seem to notice or care though, because Tommy felt him lift a hand towards his hair. At the contact he flinched violently, but the vampire ignored it, and began to run his hands through Tommy's greasy unkempt hair. The vampire's nails gently massaging his scalp, causing Tommy to flinch again, earning a disapproving growl, followed by a comforting purr. Tommy looked to the man, staring at him with fearful eyes, soaking in all the details of the mans face. He had blonde hair, stopping around his shoulders, vibrant blue eyes, probably contacts. He took in the way his fangs showed, slipping out of his mouth slightly when he smiled. The white and green bucket hat? Weird. And finally, the emerald pendant hanging just below a small red heart with two slits that appeared to be sewn into his black undershirt, that was mostly covered by something green. Tommy's eyes were drawn to the massive black wings, his eyes mesmerized by the way they shined. They were wrapped around them making a protective barrier against the rest of the world. The affection would almost be comforting if Tommy wasn't feeling immense fear. He was certain he was going to be eaten. He was confused as to why he hadn't been already, although he wasn't complaining.

Tommy was lost in thought, tensely listening to the older vampire purr. So naturally, when the sudden bang of the door being thrown open, he practically jumped. The loud noise was followed by an energetic voice all but screaming,

"PHILZA! IS HE AWAKE YET?!? I CAN FEEL ITTTT!" Tommy assumed the man holding him was 'Philza'. He flinched intensely when he heard Philza hiss aggressively. Possessively, as he cradled Tommy's head closer to his chest. He assumed the other man had too, when he heard Philza say, "sorry, Wil..." as Phil started petting Tommy's head again, "but yes, he's awake." After a few seconds Tommy felt the bed dip, and heard who he assumed to be 'Wil' ask,

"Can I hold him? Please dad" Phil nodded, then handed Tommy over. Tommy was small, even for his particular breed of hybrid. Normally, for his type, he would be a fair bit larger, but due to malnutrition, and lack of a safe environment, he was small for a 16-year-old. The vampire now holding the petrified boy, had curly hair, being held down by a maroon beanie. He had circle glasses with thin frames sitting on the edge of his nose, that nicely complimented his face shape. His blood red eyes contrasted against his pasty skin. What stood out more to Tommy was the paper white streak through the man's hair. "awe dad! He's so cute!" Wilbur said with a hint of possessiveness lacing his tongue. He began combing through Tommy's hair once again, growling if Tommy so much as moved, earning small whimpers from the boy.
