Bella Swan

Serena Swan, her sister born two years before her, was right about one thing.

She was a danger magnet. And a terribly good one at that.

Bella realized with dismay as she looked down to her bloodied arm embedded with tiny shards of glass. Her 19th birthday turned out to be an utter disaster, far worse than the time when Picasso, Renee's greedy, orange fluff of a cat-thief jumped into her cake and pushed it over the kitchen counter top, which proceeded to land on her little head. The whole day had been spent in the tub, with Serena and Renee trying to clean bits and pieces of creamy cake remains from her hair and face. Now, Carlise Cullen, aka Hot Doc, tended to her burning wounds with a tweezer and bandages, and ointment. All hospital grades.

Never had she ever thought Jasper had such startling white, razor sharp teeth, as he lunged at her. Two black pits of insatiable hunger were mere inches from her face before Edward, her dearest psychotic boyfriend, had pushed, no, flung her to a wall so hard that she bounced off it to land on very breakable glass objects. In any other human-only scenario, this would be how it happened. The boyfriend's friend attacked you with a knife, and the boyfriend pushed you too hard into the glass, then said it was just an accident. But, they were also the one who stitched you up.

No hard feelings, right?

Oh, don't give her the crap excuse of them being supernatural beings, and that she should forgive them for they couldn't help it. No, she was in danger of dying around these human-shaped demon things because Edward the bipolar stalker had the balls to drag her into their world.

Ignorance was bliss. How right they were. Ugh.

Unfortunately, and really, she didn't wish it to be so, but this was the second time Vampires had attacked her.

The first one was just over five months ago. The first human-eating Vampires she saw tried to eat her.

How had she gotten herself involved in all this nonsense?

Sure, she didn't mind adrenaline filled adventures. But only if they guaranteed her safety!

It all began back in January when she started her first year of college.

When Edward Cullen set his hazel eyes on a delicious target, her.

Well, it wasn't her fault that her blood was so mouthwateringly sweet as he so kindly put it.

Edward Cullen was a grade-A hottie, which should have set her heart fluttering and blush on her cheeks when he started chatting to her and paid her so much attention that anyone would have felt like they were the special flower who had the sun's whole attention.

Hah.

Not when said attractive boy had looked at her beforehand like the Jaws watching a piece of meat swimming in front of it. This, and all she could see was dark red staining the whites of his shining teeth and dripping from the corner of his lips.

Boy, was it hard to concentrate on walking with her eyes forward while trying her damn hardest to ignore eyes filled with hate burning holes to the sides of her head.

If it hadn't been the vision and Serena's warning, maybe she would have continued being attracted to the boy-shaped thing.

She was a danger magnet. And danger had found her. Her chance of surviving this one was slim.

Danger came visiting her everyday, every week, every month. Visions of her being eaten in a meadow in the woods came to her at nights. No amount of beauty and charm would ever convince her to think better of the Cannibal demon stalker.
