It all started on February 4th 2023 at 3:33 PM/15:33 o'clock. On this day 57 of what we now call gates appeared on earth in 39 different countries. News outlets across the world were talking about it. Exactly on hour and eleven minutes later at 4:44 PM/16:44 o'clock, a what we now call the Status Window appeared, saying:
Awakenees, you have been chosen to fight on humanities behalf. Prepare your selves for the invasions to come. You will need it.
This put the whole world in a panic, governments mobilized their militaries, and countries declared martial law an masse.
It took a few months but we figured out what to do. The Awakened as we now called them, went through what we dubbed Gates, and defeated what named Dungeons.
The Awakened was categorized into 7 different ranks, with their Stats determining what rank they get. With five different stats.

It was also figured out that normal people are instinctually afraid of the Awakened. The higher the rank, the more afraid you became. Although the effects of the natural fear that the Awakened produced was lessened/increased depending on your relationship with the specific Awakened. Furthermore the Awakened had an instinctual urge to kill, which increased rapidly the higher ranking you go.
Among these Awakenees, was my childhood friend turned girlfriend, Rachel, who awakened with all S-RANK stats. It was hard at first. Me getting over my newfound fear of her, and her resisting the urge to kill, but it all worked out in the end.
