Ch.20 - A Childhood Promise

Y/n quickly dashes out the stores, bystanders seeing a blur followed by a breeze of air. Smoker caught up to her and decided to stay behind, seeing that both her and Lúcio were now chasing the masked man.

"Submit!" Luciò shouts.

"You think he'll stop just because we told him to??" She huffs.

"It's procedure..." he mumbles, realizing how useless the procedure seems in the current situation.

"Where is..." Lúcio glances in the direction they're running. "He's headed for the dock!"

"He's gonna run there?!" The captain questions.

"What should we do? We're running at the same speed, he'll reach the dock at this rate!" Luciò yells so she can hear him through the loud winds.

"You have a gun?! Can you throw your sword?!" She asks, now shouting as well.

"I am NOT throwing my sword!" He shouts at her.

"Fine." She suddenly stops, grabbing Lúcio by his shirt.

"Why did you s-AH!" She held him over her head for a moment. "Y/N! PUT ME DOWN! WHAT ARE YOU—" his heart sinks as he realizes what she's about to do.

"NO! NONONO, Y/N—"

"Here we go!" She reels her arms back.

WOOSH

"AAAAAAAA! I'LL KILL YOU!"

CRASH

Y/n ran up to where she last saw both men before the cloud of smoke overtook them.

"Lúcio?!" She comes to a halt, causing a brief screech.

As the cloud of sand and smoke dissolves, two figures are revealed. The commander was unconscious, laying above the also unconscious masked man. If this was a cartoon, there would be birds flying in circles over both their heads right now.

"Lúcio! You did it!" She laughs as she picks up the traumatized Commander. "Oops..."

'He'll be okay, right?'

Oh he'll be fine. The real concern is if she'll be okay when he wakes up.

Smoker tapped his foot impatiently, awaiting news or updates on the three that abruptly left. "Where are they?"

He was just considering going himself, when he was interrupted by a Zip behind him.

'Speak of the devil...' Smoker turns around, greeted by the sight of Y/n with two men folded on each shoulder; Lúcio on her left, Truth Seeker on her right. He found it difficult not to crack a smile at the sight and hid his face for a moment.

"You actually caught him." He clears his throat.

"Of course I did, don't you know who I am?" She gently (roughly) drops the two men on the floor.

"I was worried for that very reason." He mutters.

"What?" She cocked her head.

"What happened to him?" Smoker sweat drops.

"He's fine." She waves it off.

"I'm not fine." A violent energy emits from the man below, as he stands up.

"Hey Lúc- LÚCIO?!" She jumps out of her skin, not expecting him to wake up so soon.

"YOU WON'T BE FINE WHEN I'M DONE WITH YOU!"

"AAAAAA-"

Two minutes and one fight diffusion later

The two stood silently as Smoker separated them, standing in between. Y/n grumbled, folding her bruised arms, scratch on her face.
Lúcio wasn't any better, he had bruises on his face and his arms, scratches were not spared.
