"Bailey did you hear there is a new hot anesthesiologist?"
"Torres I have no time for hot anything!"
"Whatever Bailey, goodnight call you later!" Callie said walking towards the elevator
Miranda hadn't had much time to think about dating or even showing an interest in someone due to being a new single mom. She hurried off to her next surgery but while scrubbing in she couldn't stop staring at the new man. Torres wasn't lying.
"Hey I'm Ben I'm the new anesthesiologist just started because of the merger." Ben said with a slick tone. "And you are?"
"Dr.Miranda Bailey." Miranda said using the same tone
"A pleasure to meet you dr.Bailey."
Bailey was halfway through the procedure when Ben said "you know I had a friend in high school named Miranda." He was flirting.
"Oh is that so?"Miranda tried not to smile
"Do you wanna I don't know maybe have dinner with me?"
"Sir I don't know anything about you!"
"Well I know about you. I have seen you around and I want to get to know you."
" I guess I want to know you too."
"Well dr.Bailey tell me your story and I just might tell you mine."
After talking about her divorce and her son Bailey finally finished the procedure and got dressed in her after work clothes. When she heard a light knock at the door "hey Miranda I mean dr.Bailey I'm ready whenever you are!"
"Oh I'm sorry to keep you waiting here I come!" Miranda said running out of the attending lounge.
"Wow you look- I can't even express how good." Ben said causing Miranda to blush
"T-thank you Benjamin." He made her nervous
"I'm just telling the truth." He said leading her to the parking lot to his car opening her door.
"You do know that I can open my own door Benjamin!" She said thinking about how tucker never opened her door.
"Not with me you can't now get in the car woman."
They drove for a while when Ben moved his open hand onto the center council. Miranda noticed and put her hand in his and intertwined their fingers.
Ben tightened his grip on her hand.
"Where are you taking me dr. Warren?"
"It's a surprise." Miranda tried to relax she was used to being in control of her day at that point. But this was different. A good different
Just then "I just died." By Amerie came on the radio. Miranda turned it up and began singing perfectly. Ben looked over at her smiling with his perfect white teeth.
"You are adorable Miranda Bailey." All she could do was blush
They soon pulled up to a pizza place it looked like it should be somewhere in Chicago.
"I love pizza but I've never seen this place before. And I've lived here quite a while."
"Well it's a local place but it still gets good foot traffic." Ben said holding her hand as they walked in
"Uncle Benji!" A teenage girl said running and hugging Ben.
"And who's this beauty?" She said looking at Miranda and cheesing. She looked just like him.
"This is Dr. Miranda Bailey future chief of surgery at Seattle grace."
"How cool! Well sit anywhere you want and I'll be right back I gotta tell dad you're here!" She said running to the back again.
"Uncle?" Miranda said remembering what the young girl said.
"Oh right that's my niece Madison I call her Mandy though. Also I didn't mention this before but this is my family's restaurant."
"I kinda picked up on that. I think it's cute benji." Ben just smiled he liked the way it sounded when she said it.
"I will be right back I need to go to the restroom." Ben said walking to the back
Madison ended up coming out and sitting with Miranda.
"Hi again um can I call you Mandy? Although it may be weird considering people call me Mandy too." Miranda said laughing.
"You can call me Maddy If that helps!" His niece said smiling even wider "god she looks like Ben." Miranda thought
"So how'd my uncle Benji get lucky with you?"
"We had some good conversation and he makes me nervous like a schoolgirl every time I'm around him." Miranda said blushing
"That's so adorable! I'm glad you like him as much as he likes y- OOPS!" Madison said slapping her hand over her mouth.
"I tend to talk a lot when I'm excited I-I should go nice meeting you Mandy!" She said running to the back almost knocking Ben down.
"Wow there slow down!" Ben yelled after Madison
He came back and sat down "she talk your ear off?" He chuckled.
"She really didn't she only asked me how you got so lucky."
"Oh really? How did I get so lucky?"
"You had a one in a million lotto ticket."
After dinner on the drive back to Miranda's place Ben tried to sing red light special by tlc failing miserably.
"Benjaminnnn you sound like a dying hyena!" Miranda said slapping his arm playfully.
"Ok ok Ms professional singer well we have made it to your destination. I had an amazing time."
"I did too and I hate for this night to end." Miranda said pouting .
" I do as well but I have tomorrow off and maybe we can continue then?" He said mimicking her face.
"I would love too."
"Great than it's a date." He said coming around and opening her door.
As she looked up into his brown eyes under the moonlight lit sky she felt some way she never felt with tucker.
He looked down into her big brown eyes and he couldn't resist any longer and leaned down and kissed Miranda passionately. She held on to the sides of his face and he lowered his hand just above her behind and hugged her tightly picking her up around his waist. Just then they parted for breath like they had been under water.
"We should take this slow Miranda I want to get to know you, to love you."
"Okayyy fine." She said doing puppy dog eyes at him.
"Alright then beautiful I will text you in the morning when I'm on my way." He said walking back to his door and getting in the car. He watched her walk towards the elevator to get to her apartment and then drove off.
As soon as Miranda got on the elevator she went straight to Callie's contact.
"Yesss my best friend in the whole world?"
"Oh my godddd."
"Mandy did you sex dial me because if so ewwww but go girl!"
"ew Callie no I just got back from dinner with that hot new anesthesiologist!" Miranda squealed getting off the elevator and running to her apartment.
"Girl tell me everything!"
"I will as soon as I get out the shower. Let your theories go wild until then! Love ya talk soon!" After Miranda got out the shower and moisturized her body she put on her pajamas and called Callie back.
"Girl I thought you DIED! What took so long?" Callie said answering the phone
"Do you want the details or no?"
"You know I do Mandy now SPILL and was he as fineee as I thought?"
"Chileeeee maybe even more!"
Miranda went on for 3 hour's talking about the date and how sweet Ben was she couldn't stop thinking about how considerate he was about the pace of the relationship.
"Girl he has got you weak in the knees!" Callie squealed.
"I'm so excited to see him tomorrow!  I gotta go to bed I'll talk to you tomorrow boo!"
"Ok tell me about it mamas bye!" Callie said hanging up.
Miranda woke up to the sound of her phone buzzing, it was a text from Ben.
Warren🤎: hey beautiful I was just texting you good morning and seeing if your plans were still on?
Mrs.warren🤞💍: of course and good morning to you too I should be ready by 9:00!
Warren🤎: perfect I'll see you then beautiful.

Miranda squealed excitedly putting her phone back on the charger and running to her closet. She picked out her favorite black dress that hugged her figure and showed only a bit of cleavage. "Perfect!" She thought to herself.
Just as she got done doing some light makeup she heard a knock at the door when she opened it it was Ben in a black button up and some black slacks.
"Hello  beautiful."he said pulling a bouquet of lavender and baby's breath from behind his back.
"Oh you remembered Ben!" she said pecking his lips.
"Of course I did Mandy." Ben said chuckling.
"I trust you and Madison talked." Miranda said leading him to the couch.
"Yes she even threatened me about what would happen if I hurt you."

"Oh really?" Miranda said laughing. 

* a few weeks later*

"Baby?" Ben shouted from the kitchen.

"Yes?" Miranda yelled back.

"could you come here please?" 

"Oh sure honey!" she said walking from her room to the kitchen

" Do you wanna do a movie night when you go get Tuck? I heard there is a new movie out. I-If not its fine you kn-" he started to ramble.

"Of course we would have to run to Walmart when we get him though." she groaned.

"What's the groan for?" Ben questioned.

 "Tuck seems to ask for anything and everything when we get in the store." Miranda said quietly.

"Then that's just what I'll buy him." Ben reassured looking into her big brown eyes.

"Okayyyy fine. But when you are spending a thousand dollars don't say anything to me!"
