It was January 23, 2063. They arrived. The platoon was made up of 16 companions. 8 women and 8 men. 16 of the 21st century greatest minds in biology, physics, and chemistry. The black hole system was a large one. KIPP 1302-102. The black holes did in fact have the same total total mass, spin, and charge as they expected. They appeared and looked the same. The emitted radiation from the event horizon of both black holes were being measured and matched the values at which Hawking predicted. This black hole was to evaporate all of it's energy in 2 billion years. This system would die in 2 billion years. All of the potential theoretical calculations matched the true values being obtained from their instrumentation.
However, one of the black holes was indeed visibly different. It didn't make sense. They verified once, twice, and three times. There were no pulsars in this system. There was no other potential sources for the source of red light in the event horizon of one black hole and pink from the other. It was the 16 of these scientists and these two black holes that were 29 and 36 times larger the size of Earth's sun. The sight was tremendously beautiful. Their eyes were glued to the binary system. Some of them started crying, some started shaking.
"Have we attempted collection of the hawking radiation coming from both of the black holes? Are we getting any data? Is there any discrepancy in the quantum hair of their radiation?" Dr. Schwartz, the 3 time Nobel Prize winning female physicist, asks enthusiastically.
"In theory, the radiation of the black holes should contain no information about the
initial state of information that caused the formation of them." says Dr. Hair, an older male physicist, as he runs his finger through his singular strand of hair.
"We all know the theory, Dr. Hair. You truly believe that black holes violate a precept of physics? The initial state of these black holes has to determine their values at this moment in time. It has to. All of our our modern theory assumes that the state of a system at one point in time should determine its value at any other time. If what you are saying is true, all of our other theory falls short. I mean, look at them. We're seeing a discrepancy in their forms in front of our own eyes. I burn this piece of paper in front of you, I can tell you in about 5 minutes what it was before it became ash."
"This isn't a piece of paper, Dr. Schwartz, these are black holes. The most scary and intriguing thing humanity has ever conjured up the brains to observe. We might be wrong about everything we think we know and are on the cusp of defining new theory for centuries to come."
All 16 companions stared at the black hole system from the control room and quietly listened to the automated controls system hydraulics maneuvering and operating. The eeriness in the room was frightening.
"System controller, let's get our two scout ships to within 200 miles of the event horizon of both black holes. We need to collect a larger source of the radiation coming from these black holes." Dr. Schwartz states.
"Team A and Team B, your scout ships are ready" Dr. Benipal states for the control room to hear. One man and one woman approach scout ship A, another B. Scout ship A would approach the pink black hole and scout ship B would approach the red black hole.
"Excellent. While they begin their descent, get the companion of earth on the line. We need to show the world what we're witnessing right now. A defining moment in human history."
The information systems controller begins a projection call to Earth. The system starts playing through older messages and the system controller eagerly skips through them. In one of them, the companion of earth is seen speaking from the Oval room at the global house. The companion of Earth answers.
"Good afternoon, my companions. It is to my understanding that the year is 2060 for you as we speak. Apparently time moves slower when you are moving so fast. When you arrive home, all of humanity will be happy to welcome you to the age of companionship. My assistant has informed me the nature of this call. I just can't tell you how proud we all are of what you have done. For every companion this has to be the proudest day of our lives, and for companions all over the world, I am sure that we recognize what an immense feat this i-"
