Flashback to the party.
We had gotten to the party about 8. I was dressed in a tight black dress my friend Jessica said I looked great in and I did. Keith was dressed in jeans that hung low on his hips and a black button down shirt. We had been going out for seven months. He kept asking me if I was ready yet for the past month. He believed in a 6 month rule. 6 months into us dating and he wanted to have sex. I always told him no and that I wasn’t ready and he always respected that and told me he would wait for me forever. If only I would have known then what I know now.
After an hour or two of dancing Keith said he was going to go to the bathroom because he wasn’t feeling good. I asked him if he was ok, he gave me a smile and said he would be. After him being gone a while one of our friends Troy told me there was something wrong with Keith upstairs up stairs and I should go check on him. If only I wouldn’t have listened to him and stayed with my friends. I told them bye and went to go look for him, 5 minutes later I found him in a room. He stood by the window drinking a beer. At first I stood there looking at him, just watching him. He was hot I won’t lie. He had never been a big drinker; especially with was going on with his mom and dad. He only drank when he was either stressed or won a football game. My guess was that since they hadn’t played a game in a week then it was because he was stressed.
When he finally saw me he told me to close the door and go to him. So I did, he hugged me. At first I thought it was weird but then I started thinking he was just having problems with his mom and dad again. We always went to each other with everything.
“You know I love you right?” He asked me “Yes” I told him
“And do you love me?” he asked me. What is going on? I thought to myself
“Oh course I do.. Why would you think I don’t?” I asked him shocked he would even think I didn’t.
He stood there for a minute just looking at me. He looked as if he was in deep thought about something. Eventually he asked the one thing that always seemed to start a fight; and a fight is what we ended up in.
“Then why won’t you sleep with me?” He asked. I groaned and steeped away from him walking towards the door.
“Keith I already told you. I’m not ready and you know that. This is my last time to have fun here before I have to pack all of my stuff and leave; I just want to go enjoy it. So can we please drop the subject and go back downstairs?” I asked him praying he’d say yes. Truth was him and alcohol never mixed well with each other. Before I got to the door help grabbed my wrist and pulled me back to him.
“Come on, like you said it’s your last night to have fun here and we can have some fun right here just the two of us.” He said and he started to kiss my neck.
“Keith I’m really sorry but I just can’t ok.” I told him trying to get out of his hold. We had been fighting all week about it. He kept asking me to sleep with him saying we had waited long enough. After telling him no many times he finally gave up. I thought it was over with and he was going to forget about it, oh how wrong I was. He kept asking though. After about the fifth time of me saying no he got angry and that’s when everything blurred. He didn’t get anywhere though and eventually got even angrier because he couldn’t and that’s when he hit me.
My surprise going away party. The first party that I had ever gone to; one that my friends promised I’d have the time of my life at and where was I? I was getting beat up by the soon to be ex-boyfriend. Soon to be as in that night. “Why can’t you just do this one thing for me huh? You told me you loved me.” Keith said anger in his voice as he kicked me in the stomach again. He was my first boyfriend and I did love him, or so I thought. People always said we made the cutest couple. They said we’d get married, have kids, and die old together. If only they knew it would never happen. My parents met him and approved and my aunt and uncle too even Mason. They said I was the girl that changed his player ways and I was proud about that. I mean who wouldn’t like saying it.
