The bell tones rang at Auradon Prep, it was the 12th of February, all of the Auradon kids and the VKs finished their classes. However, it was a Monday, and Jack always skipped going to class on Mondays. Mal was at her locker, putting her things into her bag, when Ben came up her as she closed it. "Hey" he said with a smile on his face. "Hi there". She said cutely. "Are you excited for Valentine's Day?" He asked. She smiled at him and scoffed enthusiastically, "Of course. And I've got something special planned, for you." She said as she playfully tapped his nose with her finger. "Great, I've got something wonderful for you, but it'll have to wait." He said and looked solemn for a moment, "Oh, you're a bad king" she joked, and he laughed. "Well, I'll see you later." He said as he kissed her lips, and she kissed him back before he left. She gathered up her bag and went to go find Evie, on her way she could see Jay flirting with a group of girls. "That's right, I helped save Auradon, but I used my muscles." They laughed and said, "Ooh" before one of them touched his bicep, and another played with his long hair. Chad looked at Jay jealously, since no girl wanted to go near him ever since he broke up with Audrey and she spread rumors about him at the school. Meanwhile, Ben paid a visit to the shipyard, where Jack had chosen to work.

He walked up to the dock and looked up, as he saw Jack in the high mast, fixing a cleat and tying some ropes up. "Yo Jack!" Ben called up to him, as the young pirate looked down, hearing his friend's voice. He cut a rope and swung down to meet up with the young king. "Hello Ben." He said politely, "How was work today?" Ben asked him, "Oh, it was fine. Made a few deliveries, one place I avoided in particular, the Isle. Not very popular there at the moment." Ben nodded, "I can understand that. Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that I have something special planned for Mal, and to keep it between us." Jack nodded, "Certainly.", he said. "Are you excited for Valentine's Day?" There was a long pause between them, "When does that happen again?" he said confusedly. "Oh, on the 14th, it's two days away." Jack's face dropped, he had completely forgotten about Valentine's Day. It was already his fourth month of going out with Evie, and he knew that this time of year she would be planning something special, and hoping for Jack to give her something special in return. "What's wrong?" Ben asked him. Jack stayed silent for a minute then spoke up, "I, err, don't have a gift for Evie." He said sadly. "It's not too late." Ben said with a smile, "I'm sure you can find something special to give to her." Jack smiled a bit and nodded, but deep down he really felt that he had let Evie down. Once his shift at the docks was done, he got a ride back to the campus, and went up to his dorm. He thought long and hard about what he should get Evie for Valentine's Day. Usually, most boys would get their girlfriends some flowers, chocolates and promises that weren't always kept. Jack wanted to give something really special to her. No relationship he had ever had was more significant than this one. To Jack, Evie was the one, and he wanted to let her know that, especially on Valentine's Day. Then, suddenly, he had an idea. He would start with some roses and a card for Evie, but then, he would take her for a stroll along one of the beaches, and then pressent her with a ring to symbolise his love for her. Not an engagement ring, but a heart shaped ring that would show her how much he truly loves her. Jack began to plan this out, but he knew that he would have to act on this fast, as Valentine's Day was only two days away.
