A scream rings out and is heard throughout the island. The concerned parents of a certain little girl were running to their daughter's side, fearing for the worst.
"Madison, Madison, honey. What's wrong?" Her mother asked, trying to sound comforting. In truth, her heart was pounding out of her chest. For she feared she knew the problem, but she didn't want to believe she did.

"I-I had a nightmare where I was shot and I died!" Madison answered in between tears.
"Again?!" Her father asked, concerned. "Sweetie, this is the 5th time this week you've had this nightmare. Is everything alright?" Both of her parents feared she had found out the truth. She was adopted, and they weren't her real parents. How could she have found out? She was unconscious at the time she was found, and she suffered from extreme amnesia, so she wouldn't have remembered anything from her previous life.

"I-I don't know" Madison answered, sounding terrified. For all she knew, something was wrong with her. Being the only child of an elderly couple, the possibilities of problems during her lifetime could be endless. Best of all, she could barely remember her life with her parents, let alone her life on the island. There could really be something wrong with her.

Meanwhile, Madison's parents were trying to comfort their shaking daughter, all while relieved their secret was safe. For now anyways.
"Maybe we could go see Dr. Thompson in the morning. We could see if he knows the cause of your nightmares" her mother suggested, even though she knew what could happen at that visit. She couldn't let her daughter suffer any longer.
"Yes I would like that" Madison answered sleepily, her eyes slowly closing as she tried to stay awake.

"It's a date then. I'll call the good doctor in the morning to make an appointment." Her father half joked, not realizing his daughter had already fallen asleep. Seeing this, both of them snuck out of the room, and made their way back to their own refuge. They began to discuss the problem at hand.

"What are we going to do Harold?! She's bound to find out eventually. Oh she'll hate us for lying to her for all those years." His wife started ranting, in a state of panic.

"Please don't fret my dear Hannah. She deserves to know the truth. Maybe some day she'll forgive us. Now, let's get us some sleep while it is still dark out." He said as he laid down to rest, his wife falling.

As she lay in bed, she thought about what would happen if her daughter discovered the unwanted truth. Putting those thoughts aside, she did her best to relax. Soon she drifted into what may be her final sleep.
