Chapter I
Disowned
"I shall allow no man to belittle my soul by making me hate him."~Booker T. WashingtonYEAR 1775
"Princess Zelda your father wants you to the party now."
"I'll be right there." I said smiling at the maid. She bowed and left my room. I smoothed out my hair with the brush one more time and moved away from my dresser. My brother River came into my room bitting into a apple.
"Hello my dearest sister." I laughed.
"Hey River." We both walked down the hall and saw the maids running around the castle like crazy.
"Why is father always throwing these stupid parties?" I shrugged my shoulders.
"They're so pointless. I don't feel like shaking everyone's hand and hearing them say oh you'll be a wonderful queen." I said rolling my eyes. My brother and I turned to the right and went down the grand stairs.
"I know. It must be stressful, but look at it this way, you'll get to shift when you turn eighteen and that's when you take the thrown."
"I guess."
"At least you don't have to wait three more years." River said annoyingly. He really can't wait till he shifts. River has never been a patient person anyways.
"My beautiful children!" Our parents said coming to hug us. "You two look amazing. Come, everyone is already here." Our mother dragged us in the middle of the dinning hall and made us talk to everyone.
"Are you still unavailable princess Zelda?" Prince Zachary asked trying to get closer to me.
"Of course. I'll do almost anything to be away from you." I said smiling sweetly at him. His pale fingers went through his fire red hair and he smirked at me.
"You'll want to be with me again my beautiful dark princess." Zachary said kissing my hand.
"No thank you, but I'm sure you can go ahead and fuck one of my maids again."
"I-I uhh."
"Have a nice evening Prince Zachary." I bowed to him and walked over to my brother.
"That ass was trying to get with you again?"
"What do you think?" I asked taking the wine out of my brothers hand and I drank it in one gulp. "Let's go to the rooftop."
~.~
"The downside about being a wolf is you can't get drunk fast." River said throwing the empty glass bottle to the ground. It made a big crashing sound and we heard someone yelling. "Sorry!" I laughed.
"True." I laid back on the roof and looked at the starless sky.
"What's wrong Zel?"
"We're growing up too fast." I turned my head to River. "Everything is just happening too quick you know?" He nodded his head and laid down with me.
"When you take over the thrown I'll be by your side every step of the way. It'll be difficult, but you'll get through it."
"You promise?"
"I promise." I sighed and turned away from him. River knows I take my promises very seriously. He better not break it.
"Why couldn't you take the thrown?" River chuckled.
"Because I'm not the oldest and thank God I'm not. That's too much stress." I said true again we stayed there in silence for a good twenty something minutes. It's so peaceful up here.
