In this story Hawkins is a normal place and Lucas and Dustin got over theit crush for Max and Lucas and Max never dated. Also in this story Els love for Mike was one sided and El asked out Mike but he politely rejected her and she is still trying to get over it. Another thing is that in this story El isn't from Hawkins lab, Hopper adopted her from an orphanage when El was 12. She still has the 011 tattoo but she has that because her mother was in the Holocaust and wanted to have a way to always be there after she dies

Max: Do you wanna get ice cream?
El: I don't really feel like it
Max: Are you still upset about Mike?
El: yeah a bit
Max: well screw him, he's just a dumb boy
El: I want to screw him though
Max slaps herself
Max: I didn't mean it like that!
El: yeah, but I mean like what are we doing we are nearly 14 and I still haven't had a boyfriend
Max: Hey I haven't gotten one yet either!
El: Well unlike me you don't need to worry about someone seeing your tattoo
Max: Hey don't say that your tattoo is cool
El rolls up her sleeve and reveals the tattoo
El: The kids at the orphanage didn't seem to like it
Max: well the kid's at the orphanage are dumb!
El: it's not like I was alive in the Holocaust, she just gave me the same tattoo she got from it
Max: That is a valid reason to have one!
El: Well, now that I'm looking at you my tattoo isn't as bad as your face!
El giggles
Max: Well is that what you think?
El: Yeah, I do
El laughs louder
Max: Well if that's what you think!
Max Starts laughing
El: what are you gonna do, fly to me!
El: You are at the other end of the room I'm just sitting here on your bed, you can't get me!
Max: Well if you insist!
Max jumps at El pushing her over and starts tickling her
El: st- st- op!
El laughs uncontrollably
Max: What did I hear? Ice cream on you?
El starts tickling Max too
Max: Do you think tickling me would be that easy!?
