Shweta's Point Of View (POV)::

I was a bit apprehensive of the entire thing but that smile he gave me was warm and kind.

I went with both of them and saw them making pasta with fries.

Abhay was in kitchen? A man in kitchen?

This was something I couldn't digest. I never even imagined.

My sister also came to help us but Abhay took her away from the platform.

"Kitchen me bachche allowed nhi hai. The stuff here can hurt you." (No kids in kitchen)

This made me laugh. "Yeh choti bachchi 15 logo ka khana akele bana sakti hai." (This little kid can make food for an entire household of 15 people alone.)

His smile dropped. " Tum itni choti hoke khana banati ho?" (Such a young child cooks) He asked a rhetoric question looking at my sister.

I looked over at the vegetables he was cutting.

"Aapse behter."( Actually, better than you) I answered.

He turned to face me. Then glanced at the vegetables I was looking at. "Khana tasty hona chahiye. Wo kaise kata ho isse matlab nhi hai." (The taste matters, not the way it was cut.)

He said putting on airs.

Tasha said teasingly. " Isliye mai tujhe kitchen se bahar rakhti hu. Taake mere khane ka swaad na bigade." (That's why I prefer you out of kitchen. So my taste doesn't get ruined.)

He acted very appalled. "I don't cook good? Me? Just you wait. I won't make daal chaawal for you next time. Everyone will get it except for you. You don't like my cooking right. Just you wait."

In my opinion, he was overdoing the drama, just teasing Tasha. Seeing them made me smile.

Are they a couple?

They would look good together.

But he said he was a worker here.

The dinner was good. They were teasing each other and although we had only one dish, pasta, it tasted so good. Almost like freedom.

Back at home we used to cook 4-5 different dishes for every meal. But the dinner never tasted this good. Probably because we never got to eat anything satisfactorily. Here, we were eating on the table with both of them and could eat our fill.

But I still had only half of what I actually felt like eating. I didn't want to trouble them but Tasha forced more food on my plate. And when I finally felt full, she stopped. I don't know how she knew I was full.

The woman is amazing. She can read my mind.

After dinner, we went back to the room where we were first sitting. This time I was sitting on the sofa too.

The house was immaculate. Everything here looked expensive and classy. The room was big, the sofa and the tea table color coordinated.

Probably looking at me fascinating over everything in the house, Abhay said, "Ghar ka ek tour kara dete hai."( Let's give them a tour of the house)

Tasha just shrugged.

So, yeah the house was 7 stories big. It was like a mansion, even the stairs and the elevator were decorated as if of a corporate office.

On the ground floor, there was a foyer, then a huge livingroom and dining area. There was also a kitchen-garden where I could see cabbages, tomatoes and many vegetables growing. I just can't wait to cook.

On the second floor were a few bedrooms but we were not allowed to tour them because 'fairies like us shouldn't witness the miserable state of affairs of beasts like Abhay and his brothers.'

All in all, those were bedrooms and study of boys who stay there.

Next floor was girl's floor and Abhay wouldn't even come outside the staircase area because 'Even though the fairies are not present, beasts like him shouldn't be allowed the privilege to the secrets of the fairies.'

This floor had bedrooms and study of girls who lived here.

Tasha showed us a room near the end of the hall and it was so pretty. There were balconies on two sides of the room. There was even a swing on one of them. Also, there was an attached bathroom, a closet and a small library.

Tasha asked me to occupy this room and that Sheetal could have the room next to mine.

But I didn't want to be an inconvenience to them. The room was huge. Like 100 times the room that we shared at my parents home.

We would adjust pretty well here and also, I would feel lonely if my sister was not present with me. I have gotten so used to her presence now.

After a lot of arguing, she finally relented and we sisters were so happy at the pretty room.

The walls were painted lavender and the entire room was coordinated in the shades of purple.

There was a walk-in-closet, a bathroom and a balcony with a swing. The door would open only with the thumbprints of Sheetal and me. So, my room would not open for anyone else.

After getting freshened up and wearing some comfortable clothes, we met Abhay near stairs.

He was still sitting there on his phone.

"Aap abhi bhi yahi baithe hai?" (You are still siting here?)

"Haa. Woh Tasha chali gayi aur mai andar nhi aa sakta. Aur aapke paas phone bhi toh nhi hai na. Toh isliye yahi wait kar rha tha." (Yes. Tasha left and I can't come inside. And you don't even have your phone. That's why I was waiting here.)

We toured the rest of the house. On the third floor was a business meeting room. There were fancy chairs and computers everywhere. It was cool.

On the fourth floor, still more rooms and the fifth floor was just a large hall. There were no rooms here. Just empty space.

There was an attic above the fifth floor. Here, all the foodgrains and other items were stored in airtight drums.

Then we went to the shed near the backyard. They had around 7 cows and 5 bullocks.

Abhay also explained that there were a few fields around which the people living here managed.

"Yaha aur kon kon rehta hai aur koi dikhai kyu nhi de rha hai?" (Who else stays here. Why is no-one around?)

"Aur 20 log rehte hai. Par sab ghumne gaye hai. Ek saptah baad jab aayenge tab milva dunga" (Around 20 more people. But everyone has gone on a vacation. Will introduce after a week when they return.)

Touring the entire place took a lot of time and by the time we were done, it was already evening.

Because of my wounds and the pills, I was already tired and all these excursions exhausted me. As soon as I entered the living-hall again, I laid down on the cool floor to rest for a minute and never really understood when I was consumed by sleep.
