The Hospital Part 2

*Maggie's POV*

Me and my parents arrived at the hospital, his coworkers were there saying how happy they were to see him still alive.

"Maybe it was somebody out of Ronnie's posse or uh...I don't know," Aldrich said.

"I wouldn't have made it if you guys weren't right behind me."

"Uh...we never made it passed that wall Gabe," Yates said.

"I never made it out of the goddamn parking lot," D'Antoni said.

"We're just glad you're still with us Gabe. If you need us, we'llbe right down the hall," Aldrich said.

The officers left.

"Hey...why'd you lie to them?" Mom asked.

Dad hesitated but he led us to an empty room.

"It was me," he whispered.

"What?"

"He wasn't trying to hit Ronnie, he was aiming at me...it was me."

"Maybe you were having some sort of hallucination, you were shot, you were shot Gabe."

"It's true T.K., you have to believe me."

I believed him. Why? Because of the genuine look of fear on his face, eyes glossy like he was gonna cry. He took Mom's hand and kissed it.

"No matter what happens to me, I don't wanna lose my job...or my family."

"Daddy," I said.

He picked me up and hugged me, Mom joined in the hug.

I waited in the waiting room, Officer Yates was close by keeping an eye on me. Mom and Dad were on their way to Radiology for an MRI. I found a magazine with a cute baby on the front, it was a parenting magazine. I started skimming through it. I felt someone sit by me. There was a small amount of people in the waiting room so I thought nothing of it at first until a second later, the person spoke.

"That magazine looks interesting. Mind if I look with you?"

I didn't look at the person but it sounded like a little girl.

"It's a free country," I replied.

After I spoke, I realized she sounded exactly like me, I turned to her, sure enough I was seeing myself but with auburn hair.

"Jesus Christ, you look exactly like me...wow...you're like my twin."

"No you're like my twin," she replied.

"I'm pretty sure you're like my twin."

"I'm Megan, what's you name?"

"Maggie."

"Funny...cause I go by Meggie."

I snorted.

"No freaking way, even our names are alike-"

Suddenly, Yates peeked in.

"Who are you talking to Mags?"

"It's Megan, I just met her."

"I'm waiting for my dad to get out of heart surgery," Meggie said.

She replied in a higher register because we sounded alike.

"Oh...I wish him a speedy recovery."

"Thank you mister."

Yates nodded, smiled, and went back to his post.

"That was close," Meggie murmured.

"What?"

"He seems nice."

"Yeah, my dad works with him, he's a cop."

"What's he here for?"

"He got shot at, it may have caused him to hallucinate so he's getting an MRI."

"Seeing x-rays and things like that is awesome, I would love to take up Radiography when I grow up. What do you wanna be?"

"I haven't thought about it yet."

"But you're ten, my daddy says that I should be prepared."

"...How did you know how old I am?"

I was starting to feel uncomfortable.

"You look just like me...so...lucky guess at age."

Then, we heard gunshots, I stood up and ran to Yates who was starting to take off.

"What's going on!? Was that shooting!?"

"Yeah, stay here."

I continued to follow him.

"What if it was Daddy being shot at, he said he was attacked, what if it's the same man!?"

"You shouldn't come with me, go back to your new friend."

"She ran with the rest of the people waiting. I want Mommy and Daddy!"

We found Mom, Aldrich, and the other cops running towards Radiology, at that moment, Daddy ran to them.

"I'm alright, I'm alright," Dad said holding his hand up.

"Don't move, we wanna help you Gabe," Aldrich said.

"I said I'm alright."

"Where are you Gabe?"

D'Antoni got out a shotgun and cocked it. They were acting like he's delusional.

"There were three armed men, one of them tried to kill me."

"Hand over your gun!"

"I don't have one, I asked T.K. to get it. I don't wanna hurt you."

A doctor was behind him about to give him the booty juice but he kicked the syringe piercing the water jug across from us.

"I don't wanna hurt you guys!"

Daddy cuffed the officers who attempted to restrain him. In seconds, he was right in front of us.

"See...I told you someone was after me."

Mom looked at the pile of restrained officers them back to him.

"Get home," she whispered.

He started running.

"We're gonna meet him there ok."

Mom hugged me then we helped the guys out of their cuffs.
