Victoria was by herself at her vanity, looking at herself in the mirror and loving her appearance.

The rest of her face, especially her eyes, seemed drawn and pale, despite the fact that they were large and bloodshot.

She had been unable to find any solace for the better part of the day ever since her ex-girlfriend had given her a call to break the news that she was moving on and that they were no longer together.

After a protracted and trying breakup, Victoria was left with a tremendous sense of emptiness and isolation.

She came to the conclusion that she needed to go out of the house, even if it was only for a short period, in order to find anything that would divert her attention away from the discomfort.

Therefore, she got herself in acceptable shape and headed to an exclusive nightclub.

As she made her way through the crowd of people on the street, she was overcome with a sickening sensation in the pit of her stomach. When she was in such agonizing agony, she did not want to be with others who were carefree and happy at this place.

This was a circumstance that she really disapproved of. She was aware of the fact that she needed to distract herself in any way possible in order to stop thinking about the situation.

She had finally arrived at her location and was able to have some time to herself before going inside the nightclub. The lights were flashing, the music was loud, and there were a large number of people visible on the dance floor. All of these people seemed to be having a wonderful time.

She took a few long, deep breaths before making her way through the crowd, making an effort to blend into the crowd's backdrop.

She plopped herself down on the edge of the dance floor and began swaying to the melody of Haddaway's "What Is Love," with the intention of getting lost in the beat of the song.

But as she danced, the agony she had endured in the past came rushing back to her. She heard her ex's voice and saw her ex's face in her mind's eye at the same time. The anguish she felt from being apart from him was coming back, and it was getting to be nearly more than she could stand.

She continued to dance despite the fact that tears were pouring down her cheeks, and she could see that everyone was watching her. As she stood there crying by herself in the center of the dance floor, she was fully aware that she must have seemed foolish to everyone around her.

However, she did not want to depart since she believed that she should remain with the other people. She ended up walking around aimlessly for a time until she made her way to the bar, where she placed an order for a beverage and found a seat at one of the tables there. She could only nod her head in response to the bartender's questioning since she had no other response to provide.

She proceeded to take sips from her drink and saw that the alcohol was starting to lessen the severity of the agony she was experiencing.

She hid herself from the outside world by covering her face with her hands and allowing the music to transport her somewhere. Even though she was aware that she still had a ways to go before she could be considered fully recovered, she was content to remain here for the time being and make an effort to forget, even if it was only for a little while.

While Victoria was enjoying her drink at the bar, she couldn't help but scan the dance floor for her former partner. She was hoping to see her there. She was under the impression that she would be present.

She was well aware that it was unlikely that she would run into her again in this location; nonetheless, the idea of the prospect of a coincidental meeting kept pulling at her.
