Meeting the Parents (part 1)

Payu grabbed Rain's hand. "Come, my love. As Macau said, it's breakfast time. I want you to meet my parents." Rain swallowed hard and nodded. He followed Payu and Macau from the room to go downstairs to eat. I hope they will like me. I'm so nervous that they won't think I'm good enough for P'Payu. I'll do anything to stay with him. I love P'Payu so much!

     Meanwhile, in the kitchen Vegas leaned against the doorway watching his wife make breakfast. How did I get so lucky to have this man in my life. He gives me the light I've always needed. I thank God that he loves me so to have left his old position. Now he's all mine and I'll never let him get away from me. Pete flit around the room, getting some food ready for everyone to eat. He knew he didn't need to cook, but he enjoyed feeding everyone.

     Vegas walked up behind Pete and wove his arms around his waist. "Vegas..   Don't even think about it! I'm cooking your breakfast. If you don't want it burned and tasting like shit, don't start with me." Vegas chuckled. He kissed the side of Pete's neck. "Don't worry, pet. I would never dare to screw up your cooking."

Pete slightly turned and hit his husband with a potholder. "Shoo! Get, so I can finish!" Vegas kissed his wife one last time and laughed while he left the room. Pete shook his head and returned to his task with a smile on his face. As he cooked his smile disappeared as he recalled the young an his son had brought home.

I wonder what this young man's story is and just exactly how much does he know? If he doesn't know it all, then I hope he can handle it. No one could stay with Venice for too long unless they accept all of who he is. His face turned cold with his next thought. He better not hurt Venice.... I'll end him if he does. He continued to work until everything was ready. With the help from their staff, he brought breakfast to the dinning room where he found Vegas, Macau, Venice, and his boyfriend.

"Please, dig in!" Pete made sure to have a smile on his face. Rain let oked so tense, Pete wasn't sure if the kid would make it. After they had all been eating for a little while, Vegas spoke. He turned her s head towards Venice/Payu and his boyfriend. "So..... Who is this enchanting looking young man?" Rain blushed as he continued to eat and refused to look at Vegas. Payu looked at his Papa and then reached out to hold Rain's hand as he looked at him. Rain turned to look at Payu when he felt him take his hand.

Payu smiled with love shinning through his eyes. Rain couldn't help but return the smile and gaze. Payu then turned back to his parents. "This is my boyfriend Rain. I love him very much, and intend to be with him for the rest of my life. Please don't scare him."  Rain froze. Be with me forever? What? I'm glad but when did he decide that? Rain's heart be so loud and fast that he was sure everyone could hear it.

    Vegas studied his son while Pete just grinned. "Welcome to the family, Rain! I'm Pete, Venice's Pa." Pete stopped what he was saying and smiling when he looked at the very confused face of Rain. "Ummm.... Can I ask why you keep calling P'Payu, Venice? Is that like another nick name you use for him? I'm so confused." Rain looked back and forth from parent to parent, more curious about the answer to his questions than he was of being scared of them.

    Vegas and Pete looked at each other and then at Payu. Vegas put his elbows on the table and laced his fingers together. "Just what all have you told your precious boyfriend, son?" Payu clenched his jaw. He hated it when his parents would do this in front of a new lover... Not that he had alot of secrets, but still... Especially as he really did love Rain and wanted to marry him. "Papa, can we not talk about this now and just finish eating?"

This time it was Pete that stopped eating. "You know no one will last if they don't know the truth, Venice. I know you prefer to be called by your middle name, but I just can't do that. Get over it. And no, this needs to happen now, especially after what happened to make you bring him here." Rain started to panic. I don't wanna leave P'Payu.. But has he been lying to me this whole time? Rain looked at Payu/Venice with fear and panic in his eyes. Payu's own eyes reflected that he felt guilty and scared at what Rain would do now.

"Rain... There are some things I havnt told you about myself and I hope you can forgive me for holding back. It's just that..... I don't want to loose you and I'm scared you won't accept the rest of me." Rain's feelings changed at the thought of loosing Payu over this little(big) development. He took ahold of Payu's hands. "P'Payu, I love you so very much and I will try to do anything to keep you in my life. *sigh* I will do my best to accept all of who you are. You have been everything I could ask for. I'm yours P'Payu." Payu enveloped Rain with his arms. "Promise me you'll stay." A tear escaped Rain's eye. "I promise P'Payu."

Vegas and Pete looked at each other and silently communicated their happiness that this kid would appear to be just what their son needed. They returned to look at the love birds. They held each other and their foreheads rested on each other. "Rain." The boys looked at Vegas. "I want you to know that we are rooting for you guys to be able to stay together. I've never seen Venice so happy and I want that to continue. I also want to warn you that what you will learn might be hard to accept. I will also promise we will protect you to our fullest ability."

Rain's head swam with being overwhelmed with just that statement from Vegas. What have I got myself into? He looked at Payu in confusion. "Phi, what don't I know?" Payu took a big breath and sighed. He had to get this over with. He looked at Rain and took his hands. "Please know that this changes nothing between us." He took one hand and held Rain's face. "I love you and want you to be with me for a long long time. But, you have to know everything in order for that to happen. Please don't hate me." Payu kissed Rain's hands.
