Shai's POV~

By the end of the meeting, I can't stop my hands from shaking with nervousness. I should not be so nervous about a meeting with Theo. I have never been. It's just not normal for me.

I don't even know what's across the street, so when the meeting ends, I look out the window to find out.

It's a small coffee shop. I am kind of disappointed. I'm don't like coffee, but it really doesn't matter.

Everyone takes their time leaving the room, and I try to get out as soon as possible, but it's hard.

I say bye to everyone and a few, "See you tomorrow,"s.

I walk across the street, having no idea where Theo is. I just wait outside the shop, waiting for him.

Then, I see him walking across the street, wearing a dark pair of sunglasses. He comes over to me and offers a quick smile.

"Sorry," He says. "I got kinda held up. Wanna just sit out here?"

He gestures to the tables outside and I nod. We find a table and sit down.

"So," He says. "How are you?"

"I'm okay," I reply, "How are you doing?"

"Good," He says. Then, after a minute, he adds, "Okay, that's a lie."

I am about to ask him what he means when a waitress stops by our table.

"Can I get you two something?" She asks.

"I'll take a normal coffee," Theo says.

"I'll just take a water, please." I tell her.

She nods. "Okay, coffee and water. That'll be right out."

We thank her and she walks away.

"I'm sorry," He says. "I should have remembered you didn't like coffee."

"It's okay," I say.

But it's not. I don't care about a stupid cup of coffee. It's just that the Theo I knew a long time ago would have never have forgotten.

I guess people change.

"So, why aren't you good?" I ask.

"You know why," He says. "I know you know why."

"Maybe I do," I say. "But I haven't been feeling great because of you either, so don't give my that pout-crap."

"Shailene," He says. "I'm not doing anything like that. It's just-"

"Yeah you are." I say, my voice filled with something: angry? I don't know. "And since when did you randomly call me Shailene?"

"Fine," He says his voice rising. "Shai, I don't know what you're mad about, but knock it off."

"You're telling me to knock it off?" I try not to yell. "You barely call, barely text, off having some amazing life without me, and then you come back and you invite me to some stinkin' coffee shop I don't even like. Then, you randomly tell me to knock if off! Stop acting like your life is so bad. Stop acting like you're the only thing that matters."

He just stares at me for a moment, then regains speech, "You said that the coffee shop was-"

"Yeah, I did." I say impatiently. "But the person I knew six months ago would say it's a big deal, the person that took me skydiving and gave me the best time of my life."

"I don't know what you're so mad about," He says, anger rising in his voice.

"I don't know either!" I yell as loud as I can without the whole place hearing me. "But I do know it involves you, and I don't want to see you anymore than I have to."

I get up and start walking, stupidly hoping he will stop me by calling my name in that voice of his.

But he doesn't. And I don't blame him.

I keep walking and keep walking.

I see it's getting dark, but I don't care. I know it's a long walk, but I don't care.

I keep walking until I reach my hotel. It was at least three miles, and now it's pitch-black outside.

I storm up to my room, and automatically try to get some sleep. I try and try and try. All I need is some peaceful sleep.

But, not to my surprise, it doesn't come.
