I had often heard stories about my ancestors from my father. He'd tell me all about the struggles that they had been through, and the many obstacles that they still endure today, even after two world wars.
You see, My father's side of the family is Jewish, and my mother's side is Hindu. Both sides have struggled to survive. My mother's survived British rule. Until this latest mission, I had no idea how real those struggles were...and how real my father's was, and still is, even though he's never told me why he's so overprotective of me. I wouldn't find out until later, the day before 9/11, that he was a survivor of the Holocaust, and he and his sister were the only survivors.
But that's another story for another time.
