The banquet started with a royal feast, to which nobility and gentry were invited, along with some musicians to entertain them. Despite the guests running low on patience, Seth insisted that nobody should start eating until his new prize joins them. Fortunately, the waiting payed off when Saga finally arrived after getting her makeover. She now wore a knee-long shenti (as children didn't usually wear proper clothing in Ancient Egypt), a pair of sandals, jewelry fit for nobility, and malachite eyeliner. While she was allowed to keep her original hair length, she was given a bowl cut according to tradition. She immediately became eye candy for all the attendants, especially Seth, who allowed her to sit beside him.
"Now, let the feast in the honor of my father's return begin." Seth declared before turning to his new roommate, who seemed hesitant to take a nip. "The living need to eat." He poured some grape juice (a traditional drink in Ancient Egypt) into both their goblets and took a sip from his own to encourage her. "I welcome you into my home. I dress you up. And now I feed you off my table. At least show me some gratitude."
"Thank you...Your Highness." Saga timidly replied.
"It Master Seth or Master to you." Seth corrected her. "Save 'Your Highness' for once you're my subject."
"Forgive me, Master." She apologized, tears welling up in her eyes. "It's just that I fled one tyrant, only to end up in the clutches of another."
"How dare you speak...!?" A noble who sat nearby was a ask, but Seth raised his hand to silence him.
"It's alright." He assured her. "You're safe here. I'm visiting the construction site tomorrow. Would you like to see for yourself what became of those Akkadian rebels?" After a moment of thought, she gave a slight nod.
"Yes, Master. Please."
And so the next day, they visited the construction site where the enslaved POWs where working on the latest monuments. The two were escorted by Captain Huy and several other members of the Royal Guard.
"As you can see, Your Highness, everything is preceding on schedule." The Chief Architect said as he walked beside them. "The obelisk is nearing completion and brick production is continuously underway. We've also just finished carving the statue of Horus, and it's now being polished to perfection." Apart from the armed escort, Saga noticed that Seth had a personal bow and quiver at his side.
"Are all these weapons really necessary, Master?" She asked, fearing that it might be to keep her from escaping.
"Don't worry. It's in case one of those barbarians tries to attack us on sight." Seth assured her. "These slaves are mindless brutes, you know." As soon as they entered the section where the Akkadians were being put to work, Seth's notion of rebelling slaves was proven true. A slave who was being whipped for insubordination recognized Saga the moment he laid eyes on her. Enduring the pain, he snatched the taskmaster's whip and snapped his neck. He then used the whip to take out another taskmaster who came to subdue him and made his way towards the girl and the prince guarding her, intent on crushing them both.
"Surround him." Seth ordered his guards, who quickly formed a circle around the rebel slave, while keeping their distance as to not get whipped themselves. While the slave held them off with several more whiplashes, an arrow suddenly pierced his lower back. He meekly turned around to see that it was Seth who shot it. Taking advantage of his weakened state, the guards quickly tackled him.
