Chapter 3: The UA Entrance Exam

The sun was shining at the entrance to UA High School. Hundreds upon thousands of teens were there, some with large bags, some only carrying the clothes on their bag. A few were waving goodbye to parents. Some were walking and chatting with their freinds. A few were even testing their quirks on small stones and bottles before heading in.

At the Entrance stood the green haired boy. He made strides of confidence, intending to clear through this exam quickly and do as he could. Midoryia had trained months for this He had trained how to keep his power in check and how to utilize his most powerful abilities. His head buzzed with thoughts of all the notes he had, observing his peers to better understand his competition. So much so that he didn't even notice the person he bumped into to.

"Ah.AHH! Sorry!" a feminine voice said as his eyes a her brown ones. Her hair was parted, revealing the roundness of her face. His heart skipped a beat. he felt his fingers tingle as he froze, unable to speak. his mouth opened, yet nothing came out. "I'm Ururaka Ochaco. Nice to meet you. Hope you do well in the entrance exam. And again, sorry." she continued, hurrying off to get herself ready. Izuku stood there, mouth open, his stomach seeming to fold in on itself. "She was........cute." he thought, not noticing the hooded older boy who walked right past him.

Inside the school...

Izuku breathed as the doors opened. He had viewed his peers during Professor Present Mic's talk. There were quirk users of all different abilities. Yet the only thing needed here was the ability to get points from defeating some pesky robots. He could do that as easy as could be. It would be a breeze.

An alarm sounded as the doors opened. People ran forward, splitting off into different directions of the fake city. The sounds of robots appearing and being destroyed could be heard everywhere. 3 bots were flying towards Izuku as he ran through an empty street. He extended one of his arms as a deep purple flame, with taints of blue, burned the first to ashes. The other one, right next to him needed only a touch from his hands to explode into shards of robotics and metal which flew right into the 3rd one, destroying it instantly.

Another one was right above him, too close for him to be able to stop it and too quickly falling for a good reaction. Just as he turned, the round faced girl was above it, seemingly floating in the air. She touched it with her fingers, causing it to float. Then, using the touch to launch herself off, she pressed her fingers together, causing her to land on the ground The bot landed with a crash behind her, including the other ones. She panted as one of bots, still barely functioning, was burned by Izuku' s flame. "Thanks for that" he said, glad to have someone to help. Even if he thought he didn't need it. 

"Your welcome" she panted, drinking some water form a bottle she had. " By the way, what's your name?" she enquired. From faraway, the sound of a laser was heard as several robots exploded in front of a young blonde boy with smooth hair, sparkling eyes and a strange belt around his body. "Izuku Midoryia." Deku replied back, finding it strange to be talking to this random person instead of trying to destroy more robots. Yet, he felt inclined to continue conversing, the strange tingling again in his fingers. In chest face. In his chest.

"Well, I've already introduced myself to you. My quirk's Zero gravity. Anything I touch with these pads" she explained, pointing to the small bumps at the end of her fingers "becomes weightless. And if I press my fingers together..." she beckoned to the robot pile behind them. "What's your quirk?"

"Mine? I have two quirks. One is Energize: the ability to control, change and manipulate any and all forms of energy. " he replied, pointing a hand at a bot flying through the air. It slammed into the ground. "My other quirk is Matter. ANY inorganic matter I touch, except my own body, I can manipulate into whatever I can think of. LOOK OUT!" he yelled, jumping over her and throwing his hand against a falling piece of debris. In a split second, it seemed to expunge back, turning into Javelin like shards which flew back into a falling robot. Izuku landed, causing part of the road to sink into a small crater. Ururaka stared in shock and amazement.

"Wow. That was cool."

"Thanks. Your power is pretty cool too."

A minute of awkward silence consumed the two. Then, after what seemed an eternity, Izuku said "Well, nice talking to you. Hope you do well in the exam.". "Same with you." Ochaco replied, running off, hiding her face. Midoryia' s palm's felt sweaty, his head light and his heart was stuck in his throat.  He wondered if he would see that girl again.

The exam was in it's final moments. Izuku threw his arm back, causing multiple bots to be engulfed in flames. Yet, he couldn't keep it up He had exhausted all the energy he could muster. Now, the only way to fight was to touch them at close quarter's. A dangerous move, but his only move.

His hair was drenched, as were his clothes. His muscles felt sore and weak. His head hurt. His arms hurt. Everything hurt. Yet he continued forward. He felt a crushing pain as a bot landed on him. In a split second, the robot disintegrated and he flew into an alley, back against a wall. As he slid down the wall, he thought of nothing. He just wanted this to end. He couldn't take another step.

A large crash could be heard. Several screams rang out as buildings collapsed, making way for a ginormous robot. Midoryia stood, not even knowing why. He had a bad feeling in his gut. Walking over to wear the people were running from, he could see the goliath of a beast it was. The legs alone were taller then a small house. He had no clue why he was drawn to hear. This robot had nothing to offer and everything to lose if fought.  Yet, one scream stood out amongst the rest. Her cries as he saw her, trapped under the rubble. It was the girl he'd spoken to earlier. And she was right under the robot. 

Despite the pain, despite the soreness and despite the fatigue, his leg moved, his entire body numb. He mustered up as much strength as he could. Time seemed to slow down. Every footstep of his seemed deafening. The road began lifting upwards as he ran, getting closer. In a split second, he had ran faster then before, his final step launching him off the ground. A loud crack resonated, yet he didn't care. If he didn't stop this thing, it would crush that girl. His hand was outstretched. 

He was 12 feet away from it.

8 feet.

Inches....

As his hand touched, he could feel excruciating pain throughout his entire body. He seemed to hover for a few minutes, the metal around his hand pressing inward. Then,  the robot exploding back into small parts, flying out of the exam bounds. As the smoke cleared, Izuku landed. His arm was bruised heavily. His leg was black from the injuries he'd taken. As the Adeline wore off, he collapsed, his entire body wishing nothing more then to rest.
