I stepped out of the light to the dark doorstep. the cold air stung my nose and lungs entering my body, and entwining self with the warmth inside me. It chilled me to the bone, yet it felt so good to get out of that old stuffy room and away from all those nosey, chatter boxes they called society's upperclass lady's. If you ask me they're more like chickens scratching for feed (gossip) that's not even there. Slowly my hearts pace steadied and relief filled my mind. Only a few moments later I heard footsteps approaching me, and warm breath on my neck. Clearly whoever it was hadn't been outside long, for their body was still producing an excess of warmth. I started to turn in my place, almost coming around fully before he began to speak. "Wait"- He faintly whispered.
