Kyomi sat on her bed against the wall, watching out her window, sighing as she stared at the monarch butterfly sitting on the blue bellflower in the front yard. Kyomi recollected her yesterday's time when her parents told her that they are going away for the weekend. She was not great with surprises yet flexible with them.
Kyomi goes to her bedroom on a Friday night, finishing up her homework before she plays her made-up game.
Kyomi grabbed a pink rose from the vase with some water in it. She flicked the end of the stem before plucking each petal a question about her parents.
Will they stay?
Will they leave?
Kyomi made a glad smile for the question of staying. She also made a solemn face for the question of leaving. Kyomi asks the pink rose in her whisper as her parents don't want to hear.
Will they stay?
Will they leave?
The suspense of her game destroys her slowly. She wanted her game to end sooner.
Will they stay?
Will they-
Kyomi freezes in her dread expression. She stared at her almost petal-less pink rose flower sadly.
The last petal answers her question clearly.
Her parents ARE going away on Saturday afternoon.
--------------------------
It was nearly noon on a Saturday.
Kyomi's parents informed her that the babysitter will be coming around afternoon.
They said their goodbyes until they said.
The sixteen-old-year girl was still staring out at her window since her parents left the house.
She couldn't decide either that she was bored or gloomy while being home alone.
Of course, Kyomi was only by herself with the babysitter for the weekend.
The front door got knocked three times.
She sighed before answering it.
Kyomi unlocks the front door and opened it. She was emotionless at first.
When Kyomi faced someone, who she expects to see is the babysitter, Kyomi became disbelieved.
The babysitter was not a lady that would fit to be a nanny.
It was just a boy who goes to high school. Two years older than her.
He takes one look at her. The boy got the same reaction as Kyomi's.
He said while gesturing at her, "You're Kyomi?"
"You're my babysitter?" She asked after she points at him.
---------------------
Kyomi and the babysitter both sat on the dining chairs in the kitchen.
They faced at each other.
No matter how awkward it feels to be in the house, two kids in the same high school, Kyomi and the babysitter are really confused.
She spoke to the boy first. "I don't get you." Kyomi stated.
The babysitter sighs. "I didn't agree to watch you. This was supposed to be my grandmother's job. She gave it to my sister for watching you. Except Betty bribed me to take it for her get-together at her friend's house." He confessed.
