Days continued to feel like the same blur, well, almost.
Emma's visits were the highlights of Norman's day. As much as Norman hated that fact it wasn't like anything here was pleasant, and being stuck in his own head didn't help things either. Emma was nice, that was it. But like everything else here, it could be a trap, one Norman wouldn't fall for.
She usually visited him after tests, which in retrospect is fair considering that's when he has the most free time, but that didn't change the fact that after his tests he was tired and felt like crap.
She did at least have the decency to wait about 10 minutes for him to get his bearings so he didn't go ballistic. But Norman didn't think any amount of time would completely wear off the fatigue of the tests.
They're ruining him.
Today was especially rough, Norman barely made it back to his room without passing out or losing his breakfast. Needless to say as each day went in Norman was more and more grateful that they didn't serve lunch here.
As soon as Norman got to his room he immediately ran to the bathroom and collapsed in front of the toilet releasing the contents of his stomach. Norman felt a coughing fit take over almost immediately after he was done puking.
Red was the lasting he saw before blacking out.
Slowly, Norman felt his consciousness return to him.
A part of him wished he didn't.
The first thing Norman noticed was that he was on something soft, a hard contrast to the cold and hard bathroom floor.
When Norman's vision finally returned to him he saw that someone was on his bed. Next to him was Emma Ratri, she was scribbling something down in a notebook.
She must have found him passed out on the bathroom floor and carried, or had someone carry him to his bed.
Norman wasn't sure how he felt about that.
She must have felt him moving because she looked up from whatever she was writing and back at him.
"Norman, you're awake." Emma said with a half smile, her tone of voice was off putting, like she was happy but at the same time neutral.
She was normally like that, like at heart she was a kind and caring person but has never been allowed to truly express it. Or a cold unfeeling person who was trying and somewhat failing to act like they cared.
With how much Norman actually knew about Emma, it could be either.
Either way, she was still his enemy.
Norman chose not to say anything and instead slowly sat up.
"How are you feeling?" Emma asked
Why would she care?
"Fine." Norman said. Emma raised her eyebrows in a 'bullshit' way but didn't push.
Instead she simply crossed her legs and leaned back.
"Do you believe in fairytales, Norman?" She asked. Emma usually asked Norman some random question when she came.
Norman would admit it was a good way to get a conversation going. Still the questions were completely random and she asked them at the weirdest times.
It made Norman question what went through the girls head.
The question itself was surprisingly deep. He wanted everything to end happily ever after, that'd someone would save him and everything would go back to how it was if not better.
