I enjoy it the most when I give my readers whiplash.

Here's some a bunch of fluff, as promised :)

Wham!

Luffy shouted out in frustration after slamming his hands on the table.

"When is this stupid rain gonna stop!" The pieces of paper he had been tearing up fled from his fists quickly, then settled softly onto the table again.

I jolted at the noise, dozing after a long night full of nightmares and memories; which was becoming more common as the days progressed. In fact, I had been imagining myself falling from the sky again and about to hit the water, before Luffy's loudness woke me.

"You alright?" Usopp questioned from behind me. He must've felt the movement, as I had begun to sleepily laze back-to-back on him without noticing.

"Yeah, sorry." I said shortly, jerking forward when I noticed our position. I cringed at the grating of my throat. Apparently my little nap was not as short as I thought.

"The rain is making me groggy." I cleared my throat before speaking this time, struggling to avoid the embarrassment.

"It's all good. It didn't bother me." He shrugged, still focused and fiddling with his newest contraption.

I eased back into a slouch (carefully, this time). As the conversation between the others progressed, I could feel Usopp's back gradually place against mine again; His initiated movement led to us using each other as a backrest, mutually this time.

"Hey, Usopp," Luffy sprawled on the table with a pout, "do you have anything we can have fun with?"

"I've got a firework we could set off, If you'd like. You wanna?" Usopp offered, still tinkering when he produced the small wrapped ball from his pocket.

"Do I?!" Luffy screeched, and I blinked with heavy eyes.

"That's not a good idea, guys. For all we know there could be hostile ships nearby." Nami chided, patiently reading her newspaper. Robin was doing the same with her book across the table.

"Yeah, you've got a point, Nami." Usopp agreed, shuffling the firework back in his pocket. Luffy deflated and pooled onto the table again, despairing.

Then it was quiet again. A blissful quiet where everybody was doing their own thing again, and my eyelids were drooping.

"Hey Robin," They snapped back open at Luffy's voice, "What's that book you've been reading this whole time?"

Robin perked up, astonished that Luffy would be interested in her book. The rest of the crew followed soon after, all frozen in silence, watching him like a hawk. They looked like they were sweating, for some reason.

I was deeply confused. Sure, he wasn't a literary genius or a scholar, but it was just a book.

"What?" He mumbles, "Is there something wrong?"

Actually... I don't think I've ever seen him pick up a book, now that I think about it.

"N-No, it's nothing." The crew responded, diligently going back to their business and not at all sounding suspicious. I was still lost.

"It's called The Rainbow Mist, and it's an incredibly fascinating read," Robin began explaining, "It's about the adventures that someone had in a part of the sea known for an unusual phenomena."

He grunted in interest, before sliding the book in front of him. The crew is still sweating as he opens the book and begins to scroll the pages.

"So, I saw an island." Zoro enters the room, looking relaxed despite the fact that he was soaked from the rain.
