"So how do you look like as a cat?" Kaitlin asked. In this world girls could change into cats and boys could change into wolves around the age of 14. "...Actually I can't turn into one yet." I said shyly. "Oh, that's fine everybody gets there at there own pace. You wanna see me as a cat though?" Kaitlin asked. "Yeah!" I said, I was glad that I would be able to see her turn into a cat. Kaitlin had just turned into a fluffy ginger cat with light green eyes. "You're beautiful!" I said wishing I could turn into a cat. "I wish I could turn into one" I said begging that my, I don't know, inner cat would come out.
"Well, when's your birthday?" Kaitlin asked. "September 27" I said wondering what Kaitlin was going to say next. "Well that means you'll be able to turn into a cat on....Thursday of next week!" Kaitlin said ending her sentence excitedly. "Yes!" I yelled I couldn't believe I would be able to turn into a cat next week!!! "Be quiet! Unless you want to go to the principles office!" A hall monitor yelled at me. Right after the hall monitor left Kaitlin and I broke out laughing. On the way home on the bus I had talked about cats and wolves to Kaitlin. "Hi Isabelle." My mom greeted me when I walked in the door. "Hi" I said. "How was your day?" My mom asked. "Good" I answered and then quickly ran up to my room and texted Sophie, Sienna and Drew. They were my best friends at my old school. I had done everything with them. But then I moved to Birmingham, Alabama so basically all I can do with them is text, FaceTime and like there photos on Instagram. I spent the rest of the day on my phone, which is what I normally do...
"I can't believe it's Thursday!" I said to Kaitlin excitedly on the way to school. "What time were you born?" Kaitlin asked randomly. "Uhhh.....1:34 p.m." I said. "That means that you will be a cat at 1:34." Kaitlin said. "I can't wait!" I said eagerly. The whole way to school we were talking about what I would look like and how cool it is to be a cat. "Come on, we're going to miss math if we're late!" I told Kaitlin. Math was the first subject of our day at school and since the bus driver goes very slowly most of the time we're late for math class. "Ok, I'll race you there!" Kaitlin said. "Ok, ready...set...go!" I yelled. Then we raced to math class.
It was lunch time and me and Kaitlin were sitting at the dancers table. "So I heard you are going to be able to turn into a cat in like 40 minutes." A girl named Emily said in a German accent. Emily, Joanna, Linsey, Kelly, Gabby, Kate, Katie, Kaitlin, Anna, Willa, Rose and Elizabeth were the girl dancers. Jordan, Alex, Scott, John, Dylan, Finn, chandler, Ian, Jonathan, Zachary and Omar were the boys. All the boys did hip hop or break dancing except Omar. And all the girls did ballet except me, Kaitlin, Joanna and Gabby. We did hip hop. After lunch there was only 30 minutes left before I could turn into a cat. "Come on let's go to science and after science it'll only be like 3 minutes before I can turn into a cat!" I said exited. "Yup, let's go." Kaitlin said happily.
"My body feels weird" I said. "That means you're transforming!" Kaitlin said happily. "Yay" I said exited. I couldn't wait to see what I would look like as a cat. In the next minute I had turned into a cat, at least I thought. "Yes!" I yelled. "I'm a cat" I finished. I was very happy that I had finally done it. "Uhhh...look in the mirror." Kaitlin said nervously. "What? Do I look ugly?" I asked worried. "No...just look in the mirror." Kaitlin repeated. Then Kaitlin showed me a mirror. I was horrified of what I saw. And scared. I was a...wolf.
