Meli grabbed the prybar and slammed it into the creature's skull, knocking it out. Her aim was slightly off due to the darkness. Its white smile made her shiver as she slowly backed away and then slammed its hideous smile with the prybar until she had killed it. Meli looked at herself with a sense of accomplishment and double-checked that it was dead. White walls seemed to stretch on and on as she looked for any signs of human life. Meli shivered as she heard footsteps running at her. She turned around to see nothing and kept circling the area. She saw a large crate of supplies and approached it. "Ah, yes. Almond water. In chocolate bliss flavor." she whispered as she opened the bottle. She pulled out her gun and looked around the area for any signs of human life. The endless white walls seemed to go on forever.

Meli looked at the window from a distance to make sure it was safe. When she looked through the window, she saw an endless void. It was "the window" she waved at it and proceeded to walk away from it. She took a deep sip of almond water and remembered what happened.

It was a perfect Saturday afternoon, the birds were chirping, the sun was shining, and she was sipping some coffee. Her family abandoned her, and all her friends disappeared. Well, not all of them. Vyvi was still there, but just "busy". It was her birthday, but no one congratulated her. She decided to walk up to a bridge and admire the view for the last time. Vyvi, she was the only reason she had made it this far. They had been such good friends... But, she could never open up to her, all her problems faded when she was with Vyvi. The sun sets as she overlooks the bridge. The last voice message, for Vyvi. "Vyvi, I love you so much. I hope I can meet you in the afterlife. You've been a good friend. I hope you know that this is not your fault. You're my only friend. Everyone hates me. Even my family kicked me out. Uh- well... Its all fine. Just fine! Vyvi... This is the last voice message you'll ever get from me. Meli out." Her teary eyes stair at her phone. She presses the send button and climbs over top of the rail. Meli notices that the railing is rusty, and could give way any moment. Everytime she felt sad or angry she would go and shake it. Soon it would break away. She rattles it around until it gives way and she falls into the never-ending abyss of water. Everything freezes. No more tears, no water. No pain. Nothing. Just the flickering of yellow lights and musty old carpet that squished with a mysterious liquid.

Meli shivers as she remembers her family, friends, and her actual life. The almond water she's drinking begins to clam her down. Meli was naturally fond of mysteries and did little research about the backrooms, just the safe levels, and cool entities. She never really knew much, or even thought of it being real. Meli kept circling around to make sure the area was clear of entities. Monsters. They just appear, and disappear, no thoughts of existence. They are just there.

Meli went over to a nearby group of people. She had met few people, but they were never people, just facelings, or skin stealers. This had been her first human interaction in a while. She was trying to get some information on "The Sector of Amaterasu". Meli approached them and greeted them. They were silent for a few seconds before asking if she was okay. Then Meli noticed that she was covered in a slimy black liquid. W-what- is that- Smiler blood? The liquid oozed into her skin making her skin crawl. The people saw this and offered extra clothes and some bandages. Meli smiled and handed them 2 cans of Melon & Mint and 2 cans of Mint & Licorice. A hopefully fair trade. Her outfit was a plain black T-shirt, black jeans, and tall black boots. The boots were useful in certain situations, but she had to learn how to run in them. The couple introduced themselves as Gin and Toni. Gin was a tall male with strawberry blonde hair. There was another man next to him named Toni, who had short black hair and a blue hoodie. They welcomed her into their makeshift tent. Gin offered to put her bag in a safe place, but Meli refused, not wanting to trust anyone. Her bag was quite valuable, it contained a 3 cans of her favorite types of Almond Water and 2 cans of the ones she wouldn't drink. Meli had only been in this place for about a week but had already found her hidden talent; making custom weapons. She had found a special gun that can adapt to shoot air at a high speed while doing as much damage as a regular bullet. Her second weapon was a flame thrower that used to be a gun. She had taken a rough piece of tape used for lighting matches and stuck it on the side of it. Then she loaded a box of matches into it, as well as fuel. Meli worked as a car mechanic, which gave her an advantage. Gin nervously tapped her on the shoulder, suddenly jolting Meli back into this strange reality. Gin smiled and thanked her for the almond water. "Woah. Finally, almond water" Meli grinned and gave her a friendly hug. Toni shrugged and began to pack up all their belongings. Gin grinned and helped Toni carry the blankets. "If you want, you can come with us! Since we are carrying a lot of items, you can guard us. But of course, we should be guarding a lady instead." Meli agreed, but then a voice in her head spoke to her. What will you get in return? A "thank you"? She shivered and stuttered, "Umm... Not to be rude, but if I protect you, will you provide me with a home and help me reach "The Sector of Amaterasu?" Toni frowned negatively. " W-w-we don't really know h-h-how to get t-there. Gin's phone d-d-died and my phone is s-s-still at my previous h-h-h-home." He frowned and Gin comforted him. "We will find it eventually. Some other people will know the way." Meli pulled out her gun and prepared to guard them. "Now that we are ready, let's go- somewhere- Yeah!" Gin coughed as he carried his bags. Meli could tell that they were pretending to be happy but decided to ignore it.

Meli spotted the same window that she saw earlier, but with a different picture behind it. "Oh look! A window!" Meli's heart skipped a beat, that was the same window as earlier, except with a field behind it. "GIN!! STOP!!! FREEZE!!!" Gin froze and a tripped on the ground. "W-why?" Meli frowned. "That is not a real window. If you had came any closer it would have killed you." Gin walked back to Toni. "Oh. Umm... Wow. You can't trust anything here..." Gin kept walking until they reached a long stairway.

Toni abruptly stopped. "I-i th-think thats the s-stairway to level 2. I-i-its j-just that l-level 2 is r-really dangerous." Toni shivers and approaches Meli. "Y-y-you c-can p-protect us-s, r-r-right?" Meli awkwardly gave him a hug and spoke, "O-of course! I promise to always p-protect you!" She looked at them, these were the people that she would be stuck with until her last breath. Meli's breath started to quicken as thoughts of horrendous creatures chasing them down the hallway with no place to run. She shivered. "W-w-well, if y-you s-s-say s-so." Gin, Toni, and Meli walked through the stairway into level 2.
