Power pulsed through every part of her body. It felt like she was dipped into boiling water and then straight into icy cold water repeatedly. She was turning pure white. Small cracks were starting to appear, and her body was slowly disintegrating. Ultimate power is too much to bear.

"It's too much!" she cried with tears streaming down her cheeks. "But I need to do this! For everyone and myself."

She thinks of all the people she turned into angels. The suffering caused by the use of the miraculous. How much her life has changed because of the miraculous, the good, and the bad. How everything pushed her passed her breaking point.

"I wish for a world where nobody suffers because of the miraculous. The world still needs the miraculous and their holders. So they can bring good to the world. I want the price to pay in return for this to be my existence and nothing else," she says.

I'll finally be free.

Maybe in another life. I could have been a normal girl.

Everything around her starts to quickly tear apart into fragments and disintegrate. The world was breaking apart. She sees her angels stay still as they quickly break away. She waited for her end. Before she knows it, it's just her and the upper half of her body. Everything around her is pure black. "This is the end," she whispers to herself. She closes her eyes and waits. It stopped being painful a while ago, so now she peacefully and patiently waits for the end of everything. But as time went by, nothing happened. She opens her eyes and sees she is still in the same shape, the edges of her body chipped away and suspended in the air. She wonders what's going on but then sees sparkles of light coming from her earrings and ring. She feels two strong spirits with her.

"What's going on?" she asks.

The spirit forms of Tikki and Plagg appear in front of her.

"Marinette, I'm so sorry things got to this point," said Tikki.

Marinette is no longer pure white and is back to her regular self. Her body still just being her upper half. Tears start streaming down her bluebell eyes. "Tikki! Plagg! I'm the one who should be apologizing. I ended up causing all this. I let you down as Ladybug even after all you've done for me. I let everyone down. Now, they're all gone, all of my friends and family. There is nothing that can fix this. Not even the power of Miraculous Ladybug."

Tikki's gaze softened. "You're right, Marinette. You caused this, but you're not the reason this all happened. So much has led to this point. You played a role, but others have played bigger roles. I'm sorry for not helping you enough through your struggles as Ladybug. We could have found a way to make things easier for you and the other holders. Making sure your lives aren't put in jeopardy. You did the best you could. You saved Paris countless times, mistakes and all. Even now, you were trying to make amends. You're truly a hero."

Plagg flew closer toward Marinette's hand, gently touching the silver ring. "We all know how much Cat Noir trusted you, even during desperate times. He knew you'd help save the day in the end. He thought highly of you. You were his best friend, partner, and first love. He wanted to save you from the burdens. You didn't have to carry it all yourself. It was always going to be you and him against the world. Fighting till the bitter end. Even now, a part of him is with us."

Their words touched Marinette. She continues to silently let her tears fall as she felt her emotions trying to get out.

"Let it all out, Marinette," said Tikki gently.

All the emotions that twisted and swirled inside her broke out. Her tears flowed steadily and rapidly as she started to sob, and her breathing became erratic. All the pain she endured and the pain she caused to others, all that was gone, wrecked out in sobs. After some time, she calmed down with sniffles here and there, her eyes red and puffy. She felt better. She felt at peace, but sadness was still in her eyes.

"I think it's time for me to go. I don't know how you two managed to pause this and turn me back to normal, but even if I don't want to go, I know the price I need to pay for my wish," said Marinette.

Tikki and Plagg looked at each other. They were hoping they didn't have to leave so soon. They didn't want to leave. There was no choice.

Tikki sighed. "It is time, and we'll all be going as the universe ends and gets rebuilt. But you're not truly leaving Marinette."

"What do you mean? I made the wish, and I'm paying the price."

"So did we," said Plagg.

"All of us did," said Tikki.

Suddenly more spirits appeared. All the kwamis' of the miracle box appeared around Marinette.

"I don't understand."

"You were right to make your wish to erase the suffering caused due to the use of the miraculous. We all thought about the events that occurred because of its use, both the good and the bad. We know how complex humans are. In the wrong hands, our powers caused the end of everything," said Tikki.

"We all decided it would be better if the miraculous didn't exist anymore. But for that, we can't exist," said Plagg quietly. He knew Marinette wouldn't want to hear that.

That can't be true. It just can't.

"It can't be true! I made the wish with both the miraculous. How could you all make a wish!" cried Marinette.

"We asked the universe. The one before the creation of all. To have balance, we need to go." replied Tikki. She continued, "All we want is for you and all the holders to be happy and live freely. That's what you all deserve. We love you all."

Plagg shivered as he felt the presence of imminent destruction. "It's time," he whispers.

Marinette watched as the kwamis' started to fade away. She cried as they faded and bowed their heads while saying their goodbyes. Tikki and Plagg were the last ones left. With half his body gone, Plagg knew it was time for his departure. He hugged Marinette. "Goodbye, Marinette. I hope you and Adrien find each other and are happy in your new world." Plagg smiled as he was finally able to say his best friend's name. It was just Marinette and Tikki now. They noticed how their bodies were half gone. They hugged.

"Please don't go!" cried Marinette.

"I'm sorry. Just know that I'll always be with you, even when I'm gone, even if you won't remember my existence. Goodbye Marinette, I love you!" cried Tikki, almost completely gone.

"I'll always love and remember you, Tikki! Always!" yelled Marinette as she was fading out alongside her.

Tikki smiled, and then everything was gone.
