A text away

"Give me a sec!" A shout came from a tall, lanky-looking figure. The figure growled softly, clearly annoyed with everyone and everything in the house. He backed up from what he was doing and turned to face a stairway. The stairway was destroyed but intact.

He walked to the stairs and went up slowly. "What is it!" He called back. Another voice came out of a room. "Nothing! I found it!" The figure furrowed his brow. "Mhm.." He walked over to a door and grabbed the handle. He opened it and walked in. "Luke! Where is the med kit!" Luke growled lightly. "It's under the sink in the kitchen!"

The voice came back. "Thank you!" Luke rolled his eyes a bit then closed his door. He looked at the rest of the room. It is a total mess. He sighed and walked over to his bed. He sat down and pulled his phone out of his pocket. It lit up with notifications. Luke touched it and opened his phone. He pulled down the menu and looked at all the texts.

One caught his eye after looking through the many notifications. It was from an app he had. 'Wanna meet up later?' it was a friend of his he's been talking to. They haven't met in real life before but he was willing to. He smiled a bit then tap the notification. He opened the keyboard and started typing.

God_Catcher: 'Sure what time?'

Frilled_Lizard: 'In about 20 minutes?'

God_Catcher: 'Yeah I can do that. Where at?'

Frilled_Lizard: 'How about the arcade that's downtown of ~~~.'

God_Catcher: 'That works. See ya then.'

Luke nodded then put his phone back in his pocket. He got up and walked around his bed to the closet. He opened it and then quickly stepped back letting stuff fall out of it. He furrowed his brow. "Of course..." He grabbed all the things that fell out and put them on the other side of the closet which was more blocked off than the side he opened.

After a bit, he got a notification. He pulled it out of his pocket and looked. It was from his friend.

Frilled_Lizard: 'Might be a bit late! Something came up.'

Luke smiled and shook his head lightly. Luke grabbed one of his nicer shirts and ditched his holey tank top. He put the shirt on, closing his closet in the process. He walked to his door being mindful of his cat.

"I'll be home later." He pets the cat gently, then grabbed his doorknob. He twist his door handle and opened the door. He stepped out of his room, then closed his door.

"Where you goin'?" A smaller voice reached his ears. He turned to the voice. Just a foot away from him stood a slimmer form than him. The person smiled at Luke.

"Cat got your tongue?" The boy chuckled when Luke blinked. "Oh. Sorry, Lev. My head is full right now." Lev patted his arm. "It's alright Luke." Lev walked past him. "So... where you goin'?" Lev leaned on the front of the railing for the staircase.

"I'm going to go meet a friend of mine. I won't be gone for long. Just want to finally meet him." Lev nodded. "Alright. Hope you have fun. I'll tell Mom where you're going." Luke gave a thumbs up, then walked down the staircase quickly. "Hey!" Luke turned around to Lev. Lev made his way down the stairs.

"Here." He unclipped the necklace he had on and gave it to him. "It was yours. When I was a toddler.." Luke looked at it. "Oh... Thank you, Lev." He hugged Lev, then put the necklace back on. Luke opened the door and closed it.

Luke looked at his phone. He had three text messages.

Frilled_Lizard: 'I hope I haven't been bothering you but I don't know what you look like.'

Frilled_Lizard: 'I'm near the window of the cafe. I hope you like black coffee 'cause that's what I got us both.'

Frilled_Lizard: 'Well, Actually. Look for a dark red-haired croc. You'll see me.'

Luke chuckled. He text back then closed his phone. He quickly jogged his way to town. He made his way around other people quickly, then slowed down and opened the cafe door. He looked around. He noted that there was only one red-haired croc in here.

He walked over to the person. "Excuse me?" The croc looked up from his phone. "Yes?" Luke cleared his throat. "Are you... by any chance Frilled_Lizard?" The guy stared at him, then smiled. "Why yes I am."
