#8 Miss You

Slowly waking up, blinking his eyes to the bright room, Rain tries to remember what day it is. Saturday? Sunday?....He rolls over to see the spot in bed next to him empty. Must be Saturday. Payu must be at work. Rolling over onto his back, looking up at the ceiling. He probably didn't even try to wake me to say goodbye, so distant lately. Ever since their conversation 2 weeks ago, things have been different. He has been texting me almost everyday around 5pm saying he's working late and to just order dinner and to not wait up for him. When I go to bed around 10 I try to play on my phone so I can be awake when he gets here but I always end up falling asleep. I don't have school today, so I will wait up for him. We need to talk, I need to know why he's avoiding me. Maybe he feels guilty or I don't know, maybe he's mad at me, but I need to find out. I feel lonely. I want things to go back to how they were.

Payu sits at his desk at work, checking his phone for the time. It's 2pm.
I don't have that much more work today, I wonder where I should go after work. Rain will be waiting for me at home. I don't know how to face him. I feel like I fucked everything up. He must be mad at me, I would be mad at me. Do I just act like everything is normal and that our conversation never happened? Do I keep apologizing until he believes me? I just wish things could go back to the way they were.

Brrrrrrrrr Brrrrrrrrrrr

Rain picks up his phone checking his message. "Work is running late, not sure what time I'll be home" it reads. He decides not to answer today. Maybe that will make him worry and he'll come home early?

Rain waits to see if Payu will try texting again, wondering why he didn't answer him. 30 min go by then an hour and nothing. Well, he most likely won't be home til midnight. I'm going to go home and visit with my parents.

Payu pulls into the driveway, not seeing Rain's car. Maybe he just went to the store. I'm sure he'll be back soon. Heading into the house to take a shower. He'll probably be back when I get out.

Rain is helping his mom with dinner, she is humming around the kitchen clearly happy I'm home for once. "Is Payu coming too, after work?" She asks

"No it's just me mom, Payu is busy"

"Oh I see, Ok, I'll make him a plate for you to take home then" She offers

Getting out of the shower, heading downstairs, Payu realizes the house is still empty. No Rain. Grabbing his phone, he texts "Decided to come home early, where are you?"

Rain's eating dinner with his parents, feeling his phone vibrate, he checks it. Payu is home. Oh I wasn't expecting this, what should I do? Texting back, "eating dinner at home"

Payu sighs, Ok I think he is definitely mad. He decides to grab his Ipad and head up to bed. Maybe we can talk tomorrow, It's not like I know what to say anyway.

Rain walks in the door around 11:30pm, the first floor is dark and quiet. Heading upstairs, he notices everything is still, no lights on in the bedroom. He must be sleeping, I'll just take a shower and go to bed.

Payu hears Rain turn on the shower in the bathroom. He'd been waiting for Rain to get home, but must have fallen asleep at some point.
I miss him. He gets up taking off his clothes on his way to the bathroom, opening the door quietly, he sneaks into the shower behind Rain who's washing his hair and doesn't seem to notice him. Grabbing Rain by the waist from behind, he feels his entire body tense up.

"P'" He startled "I didn't hear you, I thought you were sleeping?"

"I was" Kissing the back of his neck "I just miss you so much Rain" He says in pout

Holding on to Payu's hands that are wrapped around his waist, "I miss you too"

Payu takes Rain by his shoulders, turning him around to face him. Holding Rain's face with both hands, he kisses him softly, tentatively .
Rain responds by kissing him back, slow at first, growing in intensity. Hands exploring everywhere, tracing them up and down Payu's back.
