It was now time for English class, and Ms. Hardman walked over to me. "Do you want some help for today's so that we can stay caught up?" She asks, and I shake my head, deciding I would actually do some work today. "No thank you, I appreciate it though." Ms. Hardman nodded. "Okay, just let me know if you change your mind. Remember, let's stay focused this time." She said, winked at me, and walked back over to her desk. I feel my face turn hot and I look over to the doorway, only to see Emily walking in the hallway right past our room and she sees me, and her eyes widen.

"You're blushing!" Emily mouths, and I quickly stop smiling and widen my eyes before shaking my head vigorously, signalling to Em to keep walking. "You totally like her." She mouths, and I roll my eyes, shake my head, and signal for Emily to keep going, which she finally does.

I then look over to Ms. Hardman, who was looking out into the hallway, and had seen the whole interaction and was now on her way over to the door. I felt my heart get caught in my throat, until I realised she was just closing the door, and not going to talk to my best friend. I sigh and look back at my paper.

I suddenly feel a tap on my shoulder and turn around to see Ms. Hardman standing behind me. "Oh- Um- Hey.." I say, and she folds her arms and raises an eyebrow. "Let's not get distracted by conversations with our friends, shall we?" She says, and I bow my head. "I'm sorry, it won't happen again." I say, and she nods. "Thank you. Please get back to work now." I nod, and look back at my paper, slightly looking up at her as she walked away from my desk.

The bell rang, and it was time to leave. I sling my backpack over my shoulder, and walk towards the door, but not before taking one last glance of the beautiful woman for the day. I feel my cheeks turn red and then walk out of the classroom, only to see Emily running full speed at me. "Don't. Say. Anything." I say, and she raises her eyebrows. "Oh come on it's so obvious! I'm surprised she doesn't know at this point!" I drop my jaw and prop my hands up on my hips. "She better not." Emily smirks at me. "So you admit to liking her. I knew it." I realise my wording and fling my hands up into the air. "No I don't! I just meant that she better not think that!" I shout, and Emily smiles. "You totally do. You have a crush on our teacher." I shake my head. "Do not." I say, and we walk through the front door of the school. "Do too." She says, and walks off to her car. I roll my eyes and walk over to my car. Though I did like her, I didn't want anybody to know who could possibly tell her. And out of everyone, Emily would be the one to do it.

It was 7pm, and I had just finished doing homework, and I was about to check my email. I click the gmail tab, and feel my heart do a little "!" when I see I have an email from Miss Hardman.

I click on the email, and sit up in bed to be able to read her message properly.

"Dear Elle, I appreciate your willingness to continue to keep caught up, but unfortunately at the rate that we're going, you'll have to keep coming to meet with me at 12:30 for a while. So sorry if this is inconvenient, but I do believe that this is what is needed to help you. Thank you for checking my email, Miss Hardman<3"

I couldn't even describe my excitement. Thank god I was a slow learner.

Others may consider this "situation" "inconvenient", "unfortunate", or any other negative words, but for me I couldn't be happier. I was getting to spend an hour with Miss Hardman everyday for multiple days in a row, and she even signed her email with A HEART!! I knew that I was probably just thinking too deeply into it, but I couldn't help but hope it meant something.

I clicked the "reply" button and debate on how to respond.

After a while of wondering what to write back, I ended up coming up with this:

"Dear Miss Hardman, Thank you, I appreciate your willingness to help me, haha. And thank you for the help, it's not inconvenient at all. Thank you, Elle:)"

I was deciding on whether or not to put a heart or a smiley face, but I figured to use a smiley face considering if she meant something different, I didn't want her to question if I liked her how I do.

I clicked the send button and kept refreshing my email to see if she'd written back for a good 15 minutes, then realised that she probably had other things to do, and closed my computer.

I decided that I would get a good night's sleep and went to bed early, closing my eyes thinking of nothing other than my beloved English teacher.
