Characters mentioned in this chapter:
Harper Kingsley-14
Hannah Micheals-14"Harper! Where are you dude I've been-"
Harper is lying on her bed crying to herself. "Oh, hard day huh?" I said walking towards my crying best friend. I sat on her bed next to her and put a hand on her head messing with her hair."I hate girls. I hate boys. I hate people." Harper says her voice muffled by a pillow but Hannah understands her and gives her a hug pulling her into a warm embrace. Harper starts sniffling into Hannah's chest as Hannah pulls her in closer.
"Hey Harp, it's okay. I got you." Hannah holds Harper in her arms making sure that she gets lots of attention. "Hey, let me get some cookies and our favorite tea and we can hang out for the day okay? We can even go outside and sketch like we like to do." Harper nods her head and follows Hannah to the kitchen. They grab a basket and make sandwiches and grab some fruit along with their favorite snacks and tea and Harper's mom's cookies from the cookie jar.
"I'll grab a blanket and our sketch books and we can just chill out a bit, k?" Hannah smiles and gets a smile from Harper as well in return. Harper nods her head and looks out the window to the park that's a few blocks away from her house.
"Hey! I got the stuff we can go to the park now if you want!" Harper smiles and nods. The two girls walk side by side to the park and reach to a part near a huge tree and set their picnic up and lay down on the blanket, staring out at the people passing by and the birds in the sky."Hannah," Hannah turns to look at Harper waiting for her to speak. "I-I appreciate this a lot you know. Thank you." Hannah hugged her best friend tightly.
"Shall we draw?" Harper asks Hannah.
Hannah laughs,"We shall!" The two girls spend the evening in the park drawing and sketching random things that come to mind. Harper is lucky to have a friend like Hannah every day of her life.
