Chapter 3: "Unexpected Turn of Events" (1/??)

Diluc was about to reply until both of them heard a knock on the door which cause both of them to glance at the door.

"Who's there?" Diluc answered sternly.

"Look at you,why the cold shoulder? Am i not allowed to check up on Master Diluc like Acting Grandmaster Jean in there?" Kaeya answered on the other side of the door.

"And seeing what i've been hearing the entire time on the other side of this door,it seems like you both had a great time in there." Kaeya teased even though he himself is clearly well aware it wasn't the case at all,but rather the opposite.

"S-sir Kaeya!" Jean replied in an embarrassed tone as she cover her face with her hands.

Diluc simply clear his throat lightly. "With all due respect Sir Kaeya,i suggest you get those ridiculous thoughts out of your head." He stated coldly while crossing his arms.

"My goodness,so cold~" Kaeya continue to tease further but eventually decides to stop "but jokes aside,do you mind unlocking the door? It appears you might've accidentally locked it when you were..'doing your things' in there with the Acting Grandmaster." He said.

Diluc sighed in slight annoyance and went to unlock the door as it open and reveal the smug looking Cavalry Captain behind the closed door.

Kaeya almost instantly notice the slight changes on Diluc as he glance at Jean for a moment before reverting his attention back to Diluc. "it seems like you had finally feast on your first human,Master Diluc." Kaeya said playfully.

Diluc growls in a low tone at Kaeya. "get out." Is all he said.

"Goodness me,is that how you treat your own sworn brother?" Kaeya ask.

"Master Diluc,sir Kaeya,let's not start an argument now,everything's sorted out." Jean said,stepping into the conversation.

Diluc just sighed lightly as Kaeya shrugged casually. "well i never originally planned to argue anyway,i'm just here to let you two know that the food is ready so better get going or else is gonna get cold." Kaeya stated as he left afterwards,leaving Jean and Diluc there.

Diluc pinched his nose bridge lightly with his index finger and thumb but Jean eventually held onto Diluc's other free hand gently and gave him a soft smile.

"Let's go eat together,we wouldn't want to keep Sir Kaeya waiting now,do we?" Jean said.

"..i suppose you're right." Diluc replied as he didn't let go of Jean's hand,he just gently guide her down the stairs to join Kaeya on the table as the three had their nice meal of the day.
