On the night of may 4th 1587, Queen Marie Caswell gave birth to the beautiful Eliza Mirelle Caswell. A very healthy infant with snow coloured skin that felt like silk when you'd caress her. The famous princess of Scotland was a beauty the moment she came into this world. The King, Serb III was pleased with how their daughter turned out to look like, easier to marry her off once she's older. Of course, the King wanted, no, needed a son to carry on his blood line as the King of Scotland. It is one of the most fundamental rules of the monarchies.
When Eliza turned 7, she was polished clean and tidy to look her best. Since a young age she's always had to look her best, there was many expectations of her. On her 7th birthday, the royal family threw a grand event to celebrate. Many noble families participated in this event. Everyone wanted to see this exceptional girl. Eliza has always been serious about learning the proper etiquette to represent the family.
On her birthday, King Serb III had invited VarVara (barbara) Vlackiev a daughter of the grand Duke of Russia, she would attend her birthday. They are the same age, but Varvara was older then her by a few months. The girls were suppose to be the best of royal friends but, things took another turn. Varvara was soon acquainted with her "friend" but had a different reaction when it came to being around her.
Whenever guests were to come up to the princess they would smother her with compliments while ignoring Varvara.
Varvara never came back to play with her ever again.
Then she turned 14. Her parents gave her a budget to spend on clothes and organized a big party for her. Eliza went to get a magnificent royal blue puffy dress, perfect for dancing. At the party, Eliza sat at a thrown to be gazed upon. While everyone was dancing and having fun, Eliza was told not to participate in any dances unless it was offered by any Prince. That moment had changed the princess's view on her status. Why couldn't she just dance with all of them? Why does it have to be a prince?
She received many gifts, tons of dresses, multiple books on how to be a good wife, princess, queen etc... It wasn't what she had in mind. While she was looking threw the piles of books she found a book titled: "Cruel day". She was intrigued by the book with its torn down edges, not sophisticated at all. Who had sent this book? Unfortunately there was no signature in site, except for the initials J.A.
Now, in 1603, Eliza is now eligible to receive marriage proposals from anyone. Her birthday was the main event to lure in the royal families. It is the worst birthday, she isn't looking forward to it. She'd just wants to live her life out in the open, free from her duty's as the future Queen (unless there was a boy to be birthed). She needed to keep up her image in front of everyone.
Her parents never really spent time with her, it was always her maid, Lilion who was in her 30s that took care of her: bathed her, brushed her long wavy hair, helped her with her makeup, getting her dressed in the morning etc... She was more of a mother then the Queen.
"Lilion, why must i get married or, get ready to marry someone at such a young age, iv'e only just turned 16 yet they want to find their next heir to the throne...why can't I be the one to rule over instead of my husband?" she said to her maid.
"Well, princess, every young and beautiful lady must find a husband to take care of them.. and the male rules over because men are superior in the monarchy." Lilion said as she started to style Eliza's hair into a bun with a delicate design, "its how the world works after all! Now enough talking and lets get you ready" she said said as she pined the last broach in her hair.
At her party she stood at her thrown looking over everyone dancing, having fun, not a care in the world. Many bachelors asked to dance with her and, she indeed did.
After the party she read all of the marriage proposals, some of them from 20 year old men or in her age range. Her parents then confessed to her some shocking news:
"We have decided that, Eliza, your future husband will be a very noble man, Alexvandar III, he's willing to give up his thrown as future King of Germany to become your husband. You will be wed in 5 months." and with that her father left. She couldn't believe it, married to a 28 year old when she was only 16. She needed to find a way to get out.
Eliza didn't want to live like this, so that night on the 4th of May, the princess decided to pack a few things and leave for the villages, far away where no one would find her. She could live freely, no duty's to take care of or worry about. A simple life.
Lilion was told by Eliza to cover for her, that she doesn't know when she will be back or if she will come back to the palace:
"NO...no princess you cant leave you're needed at this grand palace! Everyone admires you for being such a beauty i don't understand why you would want to leave? You have such and amazing life? You know we maids need you to be employed here, iv'e been with you since you were an infant i don't- i can't-" Eliza cut her off.
"Lil, thank you for everything, you told me that one day i'll find something that i will enjoy doing but, all these responsibilities aren't for me. Now, goodbye for now :)". she said as she left out of the big tower and into the night never to be seen again.
On her way into the town, she saw a boy her age sitting as his merchants stall. He was tall with dirt all over his face and hands. He look ed up at her, questioning why she was just staring:
"What do you want Miss?" the boy said with a weird expression plastered on his face.
"Oh um- well do you know how to get out of this town into the next? " the princess said. What if he recognized her? That would be terrible!
"...its a few km away...do you need a ride miss uh?" he said while looking at her in the eyes. Eliza couldn't give her real name out. She had to think quick. There was Lilion's mother's name: Julia.
"My name is Julia, and you?"
"Jarem Astrail. I'll give ya a ride if you want, i own this food stall. If you wanna hop on then you better work for me." he said with a stern expression. How can one man be so unpleasant? Has he been taught no manners?
Before answering back Julia took a moment to breath and think about what her final decision was. She took a deep breath before answering:
"Fine, if that is the what you wish then i will work for you, but you promise to take me far away from this place...like the beach!".
Suddenly she heard the guards yelling. They can't catch her. She hurried over to the Jarem and put her hood over her. The guards soon arried to them to aska series of questions:
"Peasants of this kingdom, reveal only thy truth to me. Have you seen the princess?"
Before i could answer Jarem said:
"Well how should i know? No one passes here for days! Isn't it your job to keep track of the princess's wearabouts? You suck as a royal guard-" before he could finish the guard pushed him to the grownd and left to go see another group.
How could they be so rude and disrespectful to our people? Outside of the castle is worse then i thought. Jarem stood back up:
"Hey Jules, thanks for helping me up, who knew you could be careless and pretty at the same time." he said dusting himself off.
"Well "Jar", i think you're fine getting yourself back up without my help."
"Ey watch your tone or else i'm not bringing you to the beach"he said with a pleased smirk. Did he think that she would be frightened by his threat, that she needed him? Ugh Men these days.
A/N: Sorry for the name change but from now on il say Julia when speaking of Eliza because it would be to complicated for everyone lol. Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Please comment if you want a longer or shorter chapter. Soso signing off.
