{Authors' Narrative}
You were a young girl, only 5 at the time. Your mother has you doing domestic drudgery such as cleaning the dishes, cleaning all marble floors, and cooking the food. "What should we do with... her?" you father asks your mother while looking at you with disgust. "I don't know." your mother looks at you, you walk over to her with a genuine smile plastered onto your face being completely oblivious to the situation due to your young age. "Go sit!" Your mother demands pointing her finger to a plain looking old rock about a yard away from them. "Oh my Gods, Please give us a break! Why do I have to be damned with this burden?" she complains as your father consoles her in his arms. Even though you're still at a young age you realize you've done something to upset them.
-Three Years Later-
It's a beautiful day in Asgard, not too sunny, not too cold. Your parents are standing outside, you notice the guards that surround the palace are making a path for "The Royals" (as the people in your region call them.) Odin walks out slowly, his spear in his right hand. He stops walking and looks directly at the crowd of people circling around to hear what he has to say. "Dear Fellow Asgardians," he begins, "I have just received news that we need new slaves to serve the castle." he takes a quick breath and looks at all of the people before continuing. "If you wish to volunteer for this position you will inform one of the guards and they will take you to your quarter after I finish." He takes another breath. "Now, one of you who volunteer will be chosen to be the main servent, being in thrall by my wife, the two princes, and myself. There will be NO payment." He turns around and stifles away.
Odin never has had a tendency to ever give you, his people, a farewell, he just turns his back and walks away. Once he is resting on his throne the guards block the entrance and the rest stand in a line waiting for people to volunteer to give their lives away. A couple older folk step forward, two men in their late 50s, they must think that they don't have much to live for, even though they do! Their arms get shackled so they don't squirm. Your parents give each other a look, like they've come up with and idea. Suddenly your father yanks your hand harshly and hands you to the guards who handcuff your arms together. No one else volunteers so the guards take all three of you and turn around. You cry silently next to the guard not knowing what will happen to you nor what you did wrong. The two older gentlemen get escorted to their new 'homes' while you are still being taken into the palace, the guard is behind you, making sure you do not escape. You are now in front of Odin and Frigga when you notice two boys that look about the same age as you with them, the two princes! One a very energetic one with a bright smile and the other black haired and mysterious. Odin raises his eyebrow, "A child?" he questions, "who would give up their own child!" Frigga shouts. "Calm down dear, it was the parents choice." he soothes her. "Well, I suppose she would make a good odalisque." he states. "Yes, yes. She will serve Thor and Loki." he tells himself.
"Boys, take her somewhere." He says rudely. But they do as told, you walk in between them both. "Hi! Im Thor!" Said the blonde, "I'm Y/n, a pleasure to meet you." You force a smile as the other brother, who you presume is Loki rolls his eyes at Thors' enthusiasm. "You know she has just been taken away from her parents to become a slave, correct?" says Loki sarcastically. "It's fair, they never were truly fond of me." you murmur. They both look at you, surprised you're speaking. The rest of the walk is completely silent.
-13 Years Later-
After a few years you get to notice things about them, what they like and what they hate, if they prefer wine or whiskey etc. You notice that Thor has never had a connection with you he just treats you like what you are, a servant while Loki on the other hand has always had an eye for you. Whenever you'd stand in the doorway while they were all eating supper he would always stare directly at you, eyeing you up and down, than there was the time Odin took them down to see all of his artifacts and the whole time he seemed infatuated with you. After a few more years you started to become more of Lokis personal slave than the others. He wanted you to be in the same room with him not matter what!
It's now supper so as usual once they dismiss you you head to Loki's throne and stand there stiffly waiting for him to come back from the dining hall when you suddenly hear yelling. "What am I? Some sort of prize! A collectible?" Loki's enraged screams echo through the halls and through the walls. You feel bad knowing the exact feeling he is experiencing. When your parents used to show off the house to guests and they complimented how spit-spot the house was they'd always claim that it was their work that they did. You felt angered since they never gave you credit or any accolades, and if you mentioned it to them you would get a severe punishment. Not just some sort of slap on the cheek but a whole night outside in the dark without dinner. After year and years of knowing him, you know even though he tries to act emotionless that there is a heartbroken mess of a boy, a boy that you know is a kind, gentle, and benign creature. He stomps through the doors of his room. You stand next to his throne, waiting for his next command. You can tell he's annoyed. "Y/n." He says, causing you to jolt from your position. "Yes, Master Loki?" you kneel while giving him your full attention. "What is your purpose?" He asks with a solemn glaze over his eyes, staring into the distance. "To serve you, My King." You say, not giving it a second thought. "No." He says sternly, "If you were never put in this.. position, what would your purpose be?" He asks again. You think for a moment but you're completely speechless, you've never had a life out of serving the royal Asgardian family. "I suppose I would do my best to support my mother and father." He looks you in the eyes, "You would assist your family after they've given you away as a odalisque?" He asks astonished by your answer. "Yes, Master Loki." you say while bowing your head. A few moments later you muster up the courage to ask, "May I have permission to speak?"
"Very well." he says still trying to process your answer to his unheard of question. You clear your throat obviously nervous to speak.. "You are worth more than anyone in this realm, My King." He looks down at you, now even more bamboozled. "I've known you for 21 earth years, and from that time I've realized that all of the horrendous conspiracies about you were just disgusting lies." you continue, "You're one of the most kind hearted gods that, honestly, I could ever know!" you say. You look back up at him. He stares at you amazed. "I'm never at a loss for words.." he says standing up walking towards you "but you, my dear, you have got me~" he coos. He looms over kneeling figure.
"Stand up~" he demands. You do as told. He lifts your chin up while pinning you against the nearest wall. Your cheeks turn a bright pink.
