"Hmph, he's not here yet?" Elliot said.
Their faculty advisor, Lucifer, had called an unexpected meeting, and yet he was the one running late. In reality unexpected was a bit of a misnomer as Elliot knew exactly what this meeting was to be about. It was the same thing that Lucifer was always nagging them about. It was always about their grades and how someone who was smart enough to pass the entrance exam could be such an idiot.
"So annoying..." They plopped into a chair at the front of Lucifer's desk before settling their feet on its smooth surface. A cup of pencils toppled over on the desk as a pink dome of bubble gum inflated from their lips.
As though any of that nonsense was their fault. It wasn't their fault that the exam had been so easy. Their parents had convinced them to attend RAD, but it wasn't as though they cared about the school one way or the other. On the other hand, if they did fail out... Well, that was a conversation they certainly didn't want to have.
"Elliot." Lucifer's tone was even as he entered the room, but underneath the surface was a string of rage. Why he cared so much about a single student was beyond their understanding. "This is serious."
"Uh-huh... How long is this gonna last Lucy?" The gum gave a loud snap as they ground into it with their molars. "I've kinda got plans after this, ya know?" They smirked at the black-haired man knowing full well that kind of behavior was what annoyed him most. "If this is just the usual, can I leave now? There's no need to waste time here."
"Urgh..." Lucifer held back his anger as he tidied the pencils I had knocked over. "Don't call me Lucy. Elliot, if you fail any more classes you're going to be expelled. I know even you don't want that. You should be grateful, you know?" A vein throbbed on his forehead as he tapped an impatient finger on his desk. "If I hadn't put in a good word, we wouldn't even be having this conversation right now. This is your last chance, so don't waste it."
"Dammit..." Elliot pulled their feet from Lucifer's desk and squeezed the arms of the chair they were sitting in. "Come on, it can't be as bad as you're saying. There's no way I've failed that many classes."
Lucifer's palm connected with his desk causing a loud crash to echo around the room. Elliot shivered involuntarily as they sunk deeper into the chair. "It is that bad!" He grabbed a notepad and pencil from the cup before scribbling something. "If you don't want to fail go see my brother. He'll tutor you and maybe, just maybe, you'll come through unscathed."
Elliot sat silent for a moment before slowly reaching for the note. "Alright..." Their voice was soft as they reflected. "I'll do it..."
"He should be in the library after lunch, but I've included his phone number and email address just in case." Lucifer paused as though considering something. "About Mammon..." He trailed off and sighed slightly. "Well, no matter, you'll figure it out."
I wasn't going to post this (at least not yet), but efffff that. I wanted to do it, so I did it. Congratulations~ I'm trying out a shorter chapter style this time. BTW I'm aware this fic is way ooc, but again as we've already established: I felt like it so I did it.
Until next time~
