I would say that this is a Ratchet x reader, but it's kinda the opposite of that. This is essentially the few days leading up to IGBM, and the best way to describe it would be an un-Ratchet x reader. I'm sorry I haven't updated in so long, I had Wattpad deleted for like 3 years, and downloaded it again in the last week or two, and figured that I wanted to update at least 1 thing for Valentine's Day, as a way of being petty for not having a valentine. Petty to two? Absolutely no one, but I was half expecting someone specific to ask me out which he didn't, so I finished this up. Why he sad over a man when I can make a world where I can have whoever I want? Lol, anyways, sorry for the long intro, Enjoy~
-Y/n p.o.v.-
I walked out of the office with my best friends b/f/n and f/n. We talked about how work went for a bit before parting ways. I noticed that my ride hadn't arrived... again.
"Ya want a ride y/n?" B/f/n asked.
"No, I'll be good, I don't live that far" I replied to her.
"Ya sure? You live at least a half hour walk away..." f/n asked concerningly. I giggled at his/her exaggeration.
"I'm sure, and it's only 20 minutes."
We waved goodbye and parted ways. Once they drove off and I had turned the corner out of sight I leaned against the wall and dialed my boyfriend. He didn't pick up.
"Of course..." I muttered to myself. He was always ignoring me. I then dialed Optimus and he picked up almost immediately.
"Hello?" His kind yet gruff voice answers.
"Hey Optimus..." I greeted him shyly. I hated to bother him, but I needed to get to base.
"Is anything the matter y/n?" He asked with concern in his voice.
"No... but I need a ride"
"What about Ratchet?"
"He didn't come and he won't pick up..."
"I'll be there soon," Optimus said before hanging up. About 20 minutes later a red and blue semi pulled up. I opened the door and got in.
"Thanks" I said as I buckled my seat belt.
"Anytime Y/n" he replied.
The drive along the Nevada desert road was silent. I felt hurt by how often Ratchet has been forgetting me. As Optimus pulled into base I wasn't eager to get out. This brought concern to the Prime and he opened the door for me. When I still didn't get out, he broke the silence.
"I'm sure he didn't mean to forget to pick you up," he commented. I knew he was only trying to sympathize with me, but it hurt more how even Optimus couldn't excuse his behaviour.
I huffed and got out, walking over to the human area to watch Jack and Miko play a racing game. I wanted to see how long it would take for Ratchet to notice anything.
Hours had passed, and all the kids were getting ready to head home. Although I didn't have a curfew to follow, as I was an independent working adult, I had to get home soon, I did have work after all. I walked to the other end of the human area(the lifted railing catwalk thing) over to where Ratchet was.
"Hey... Ratchet, I need a ride home..." I said, nervous for who knows why, maybe it was because I wasn't expecting him to acknowledge my presence, so I was most certainly shocked when he jumped at my voice.
"Oh dear Primus! Don't scare me like that again y/n! How did you get here anyways??" He yelled and then questioned.
"Optimus gave me a ride, because you failed to pick me up and wouldn't answer when I called," I explained, tears threatening to clog my vision.
"Excuse me? I failed, did I?? Well with that attitude you can get yourself here tomorrow, and home tonight," he snuffed at me, before turning away.
I was utterly speechless, what happened to the love and affection he used to shower me with? As I walked down the stairs, Wheeljack offered me a ride. The load of scrap was always pestering me, being so immature and annoying. That was one of many things me and Ratchet bonded over, alongside his expertise blending with my mechanics career(just pretend). I groaned and brushed him off,
"The last thing I need right now is you bothering me the entire drive, it almost distracts me from your dangerously reckless driving. I'd honestly rather walk home," I practically spat at him.
"Oh c'mon sunshine, it'll be fun," he encouraged with a chuckle. I just rolled my eyes and walked over to Optimus, asking him for a ride.
Once he pulled up to my house, I thanked him and got out, keeping my composure only until he drove off out of sight. Once I saw his tail lights round the corner, I burst into tears, practically running into my house now that Optimus wasn't watching. I locked my door, changed into pajamas and flopped onto my bed. What would have been dramatic if I hadn't been in such distress.
The next day Optimus picked you up, he hadn't even waited for you to call, and when you got in you found out why. Ratchet had selfishly refused to pick you up. Optimus tried his best to sympathize with you, but none of it helped.
The semi pulled into base, letting you out before transforming. You immediately went to talk to Ratchet.
"Hey, Ratchet," he didn't listen. "Raaatchet," you spoke again, still not response. "RATCHET!" You shouted, finally grabbing his attention,
"WHAT DO YOU WANT!?!" He snapped, not even looking at you.
