POV: VINNIE

"Yo whose phone is this?" Troy picked up a phone off the counter holding it up.

"That's Michelle's," Jordan said immediately recognizing the clear phone cases with butterflies.

I walked over to get the phone from Troy. I looked at the lock screen of a little girl at the beach. I walked over to Jordan holding the phone up.

"Hey, do you know Michelle's address I'm gonna take her phone to her"

"Uh yeah Let me text it to you," he answered pulling his phone out.

"Ok cool thanks." I put her phone in my pocket pulling mine out. I wanted an excuse to get to know Michelle better and I was gonna use this as an excuse to do it. I pulled up to her place pressing all the call buttons hoping someone would buzz me in. Luckily they did. I looked at my phone again to see what number her apartment was. 406. I don't know why I was so nervous. I wasn't nervous earlier while she was taking pictures of me shirtless, but now returning her, her phone my chest felt tight. The elevator stopped and I followed the sign point left to apartments 400-410. As I approached the door I felt more nervous.

"Jesus Vinnie calm down," I said to myself shaking my head back and forth. I knocked on the door and it quickly opened. Michelle standing there with a kid on her hip.

"Uh hey um, what uh what are you doing here?" She stumbled over her words.

"You left your phone I got your address from Jordan." I held her phone out to her. "Who is this!" I said doing a sort of baby voice.

"This is Stevie." Her expression dropped like she seemed disappointed. "Do you wanna come in?" He asked opening the door more.

"Uh no, I don't wanna get in the way." I shook off the question."

"No no, I'm about to put her to bed." She said just as the little girl yawned.

"Sure if you don't mind." she stepped aside so I could come in.

"You can sit on the couch it'll take a minute." She said apologetically.

"Yeah no, it's fine." I sat on her couch looking at the toys on the floor. She closed the door quietly walking over and sitting beside me.

"Thank you so much I'm sorry." she apologized putting her head in her hands.

"Hey no, it's nothing." I put my hand on her back pulling it back not knowing if that was ok. "So is that Stevie?" I asked.

"Yeah, that's my daughter." She pulled her head up staring in the distance then turning to me.

"How old is she? Sorry if I'm pressing."

"She's 3 just turned 3 in May." She had this glow in her eyes.

"She's beautiful I mean she's yours how couldn't she be," I said looking at her. I made her blush it felt nice. "Wait so you were 16 when you had her?"

"Yeah, she's my chocolate chip cookie." She turned her body towards me getting comfortable.

"Wait what?" I laughed confused.

"So the chocolate chip cooking was made by the inventor who thought putting the chocolate chips in and baking them would make them melt and create a chocolate cooking. It was a good thing that came from an accident."

"That's a really unique way of looking at it." I laughed a little relaxing myself.

We talked for a little longer and I honestly lost track of time. I got the synopsis of her life. I didn't want her to stop talking her little southern twang on certain words was so sexy. Her blue eyes were almost grey they were so deep.

"God, what time is it." She said yawning picking up her phone. "Oh shit, it's 2 am. I'm guessing you need to get home?" The tone in her voice was more longing the asking.

"Yeah uh, I probably should." I patted my pocket for my phone pulling it out and checking the time myself. I didn't want to leave I want to talk to her till the sun came up and till it went back down.

"Well thank you for bringing me my phone." She stood up and I did the same. She wrapped her arms around me unexpectedly. Her hug was tight and comfortable I was kinda sad when it ended. She leaned in the door frame and we just stood there looking at each other for a second. "Thanks again, drive safe," she said with a soft smile.

I turned around and turned back around after the door clicked. I let a deep breath out. Feeling the tension I felt when I walked up return to me. I didn't even feel it go away.
