"I'll take three bottles of your strongest wine."

Tak.

The bartender glanced up at the wealthy looking customer who had just set some silver coins on the counter top.

"... Are you sure you can take it?"

The scowling customer who looked not even 20 years old did not reply. If he had looked like a commoner, the bartender would have refused him because of his young age, but nobles weren't governed by such weak rules.

'Hmm. Well, as long as he doesn't chug it in here there should be no problem.'

"Here you go."

The bartender watched as the customer snatched the bottles, sliding two into a spatial bag and immediately opening the third. Not long after taking a swig, the customer walked out of the tavern, making sure to slam the door behind him.

"What an intriguing young man..."

Cale Henituse raised the bottle to his lips once more as he stomped up the carriage steps. He didn't feel like starting any bar fights today.

"Ron, take me home."

"As you wish, young mas—"

"Actually, I want to visit Eric. The Henituse Estate has been boring lately."

"... Of course, young master."

Cale swallowed a few more gulps of his wine. It was one of the best tasting wines he had ever tried, and it felt smooth going down his throat. The bartender had not lied about its potency either, as he was already flushed since the first sip.

'I wonder... If I chugged all three, could I get drunk?'

He pondered his intrusive thoughts while taking another swig.

After a few hours, Cale arrived at the Wheelsman residence. His face and ears were as red as his hair, but he did not feel drunk at all, yet. He had finished bottle number one and was half way through bottle number two.

"Young master, should I inform the master that you will be staying here for the rest of the day?"

"Do whatever. Oh, and don't follow me around for a while, it's bothersome."

Ron just smiled at him and remained in the driver seat as instructed. He had no issue with staying by the horses. As soon as Cale began walking up to the front door, he drove the carriage around to the stables like always. The staff who worked there greeted him kindly as usual.

'The puppy young master seems restless today. I wonder what trouble he will get into.'

***

Click, the door opened.

"Ah? Young master Cale—"

"Where's Eric?"

Cale quickly cut the head butler off. He disliked talking to the workers here since they always seemed to pity him instead of loathe him, and it was annoying. They all took after their lord, who also pitied Cale.

The only sane one in this family was Eric, and that was only because he was too headstrong and confident in his ability to steer Cale in the right direction to ever find the time to pity him.

'Maybe that's why I let him stick around for this long...'

"Ahem, young master Eric is currently in his study. Would you like for me to lead you there?"

"I know where it is. Just stop talking to me."

Cale lifted the wine bottle to his lips once again, observing how the butler didn't flinch at all. It was nothing like how the Henituse servants reacted.
