*Harry's POV*
I couldn't get to the locks of the double doors fast enough. I wanted to rip the electronic pad from the wall because it wouldn't open as quickly as I wanted it to. Adrianna was in there—with a weakened Tony. I didn't miss how Adrianna looked at him... it wasn't only hate but lust for him. I wouldn't put it past her to harm him in the most sadistic way she could, to spite me.
If anything should happen to him...
I kicked the second door open. The door immediately hit Tony—I didn't realize he was standing next to it. His hair was in disarray, and her clothes were torn. But what caught my attention was his face. Angry red marks were imprinted on his cheek like someone had hit him.
I turned my stare to Anya, who was trembling uncontrollably when I glowered at her. But it wasn't even at her whom I wanted to damage. My fists were itching to dig themselves into Adrianna's chest and rip her miserable heart out. My legs were striding up to her before I even had the chance to process what I was doing. There was nothing more I wanted to see than her fountain of blood originating from her broken body when I was through with her—
She looked at me smugly. "Don't. You know what Markus said. Touch me, and you're out of here."
Was that supposed to deter me? I flicked my hand to shove Inna out of the way—pathetic witch—to stand nearer to Adrianna. Within reach of my arm. "it'll be worth facing his wrath, particularly when I tell you attacked first. Tony certainly bears the marks of it."
Her smile grew wider. "You wouldn't. She'll tell the truth."
Pathetic bitch. Hadn't she realized that I'd already thought about this? "You think Markus will believe a human? No." I moved closer, my stare boring into hers. Her face still wore the stupid smug look, but we could both hear her heart growing louder. "When I tell him how you attacked Tony and me out of jealousy, he'll let me off. The fact that you'll be so easily defeated will be proof of your weakness. I'll slice your head off and get Tony's stake from the vault. Then, with your last breath, you can watch her drive it through your heart."
And I'd derive pleasure from it every second he is in pain.
I could hear Tony hitch his breathing, but I couldn't comfort her. He was as responsible in this situation as Adrianna and Anya. But I would deal with him later.
I waited for Adrianna to reply, but she didn't. She couldn't look away from my stare. I smirked at her, enjoying her fear. "Twice. Twice I've let you go." It made me sick to even think about it. "Next time, next time, you're gone."
We stared at each other for a long while. I heard Tony murmuring to Anya if she was okay, but Anya shot him a look of undisguised hate and moved away. I have to let Tony kill her himself when he Awakens for the servant girl's audacity.
Adrianna stepped backward slowly, careful not to take her eyes off me. It was the only smart move she had made. "No. Twice I've let him live. Next time he's gone." She slid his eyes to him briefly before resting on mine again. "I'm the one in control here, not you."
They left, closing the doors behind them with a loud crash. The sound stung the sudden silence between us. I looked at Tony to see how much damage he had sustained when I realized he was crying.
This made me angrier more than anything. So weak. I hate seeing him so helpless, so weak. This wasn't Tony. I wouldn't say I liked it.
"This is your fault!" I snapped at him.
He visibly winced at the ferocity of my voice, clearly shocked. "But she... she attacked me—"
"Yes." I hissed at him. "And Anya. A human! You let a human attack you. You are weak. You are incapable of defending yourself because you refuse to be awakened!" I jerked his arm to pull him to his feet, barely registering the terror on his face. I couldn't care about it—not now. I didn't want to be gentle with him. "If you had just been killed, it would have been your fault." I snarled. . He almost died. If he was destroyed, I couldn't even think it—I bellowed at him, gripping his wrists, not caring if I hurt him—I wanted to hurt him if that was what it would take to keep him. "You have the chance for immortality, for incredible strength! And you're too blind and stubborn to see it."
