Chapter three

I woke up in the nurses office, unsure of how long I've been out.

Addison, the school nurse poked around at my face and torso.

Cleaning up the blood, tending to the gashes. Me and Addison are on first name basis now, as I've been here many, many times before. I still winced and groaned when she applied peroxide, i can't seem to get used to the stinging sensation. I fiddled with my thumbs and bit my lip, trying to distract myself from the slight burning feeling. I looked over to see Scarlett pacing back and fourth around the small claustrophobic office. Arms crossed over her chest.

Eventually the nurse finished fixing up my injuries. So i had to leave the office.

i slowly started to lift my beaten body off the blood stained stretcher. A sharp pain shot up my torso, causing me to wail and fall back down. The nurse got up to help me, but Scarlett beat her to me.

"Thanks" i mumbled when i was finally on my feet. She didn't answer, didn't look at me. Didn't do or show anything.

"Do you wan to call your mom to pick you up?" Addison asked, placing the bloody bandages in the garbage next to her desk.

"I'm fine." I said blankly, and pushed Scarlett forward, indicating I wanted to leave.

We left the nurses office and made our way into the empty school hallways.

My vision became a little clearer then before, and my balance improved.

I pushed off Scarlett's shoulder and started walking on my own.

My speed increased as I moved towards my locker. I tore through my text books and papers searching for the right folder. I found what I was looking for and slammed my locker closed, storming off to room 216 at which Chemistry is held.

"Are we going to talk about this?" Scarlett called from behind me, I forgot she was even there. I slowly turned to face her, "theres nothing to talk about."

I turned again and started walking away. "Don't you think for one second you're going to get out of this without talking about it."

One again I turned to face her, "I'm worried about you." she continued,

"Why didn't you tell me? I could have helped."

"I don't need your help." I said blankly, staring at the ground, trying not to make eye contact.

"But you do!" she yelled, "you would have gotten fucked up, even more so, if i hadn't have been there!"

"I'm fine on my own. Ive been on my own for so long it doesn't fucking matter anymore." I looked up to see a look of guilt sweep across her face as I finished my sentence. I then rolled my eyes and proceeded to room 216.

...

Got your sister to pick up for you?

What a fucking baby.

You're pathetic.

A disgrace to humanity.

Fucking kill your self already.

You're a freak, and nobody likes freaks.

I woke up in a sweat, gasping for air.

Cassie's words echoed and stuck with me.

Gemma and Abi's laughter sounding behind Cassie's haunting words.

I turned over to check the time, it read '3:47 am'.

Sighing I reached for my water bottle on the night table, taking a sip and then resting it back on the small black stand. I rolled back over to my left side and closed my eyes, drifting off once again.
