Hours seemed to pass in a blur as they waited for news. Every time the door to the surgery room opened, Mahbir's heart leapt into his throat, hoping for good news. Finally, a doctor emerged, his expression serious but not grim. Mahbir and his family surged forward, desperate for information.

"Harleen is out of surgery," the doctor said, his voice calm and professional. "The bullet caused significant damage, but we managed to stabilize her. The next 24 hours are critical, but she is strong. She has a good chance of pulling through."

Relief washed over Mahbir, and he felt his knees buckle. Kuwar and Gurkirat caught him, steadying him as he fought back tears. "Thank you, doctor," he managed to say, his voice choked with emotion.

As they moved to Harleen's room, Mahbir's thoughts were a jumble of gratitude and fear. He needed to see her, to hold her hand and tell her that everything would be okay. His family gathered around, offering silent support as they waited for the chance to see Harleen, to let her know that she was not alone in this fight.

In the dim light of the hospital room, surrounded by the quiet hum of machines and the presence of loved ones, Mahbir whispered a prayer for Harleen's recovery, vowing to stay by her side through every challenge that lay ahead.

Everyone left.It was just Mahbir and Harleen.Mahbir's heart raced as she lay there, unconscious, connected to various machines. The steady beeping of the heart monitor was the only indication that she was still with them. His chest tightened at the sight of her pale face, her body so still.

He held her cold hand in her warm ones and kissed it.

"Harleen," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "Mai ithe ee aa tere kol. Tu thik ho jayengi. Kuj ni houga tenu." He stroked her hand, willing her to respond, to give any sign that she could hear him.

(I am here,with you.You will be fine.Nothing will happen)

Suddenly, a tear slid down Harleen's cheek, and her fingers twitched, squeezing his hand weakly. Mahbir's heart soared with hope.

"Harleen!" he exclaimed softly, leaning closer. "Tu sunn sakdi aa mnu? Please, apnia sohnia akha'n khol do ikk var."

(Can you hear me? Please open your beautiful eyes just for once)
