As the days passed, Jack couldn't help but think about Sophia all the time. He knew he had made a terrible mistake by letting her go, and he was determined to make things right. But he also knew that it was going to be difficult, given all the hurt he had caused her.In the meantime, Sophia was struggling to move on. She tried to focus on her work, but her thoughts kept drifting to Jack. She missed him, but she didn't want to be with someone who could hurt her so badly.
One day, as she was walking to her car after work, she saw Jack waiting for her. She froze, not sure what to do. He looked different somehow, like he had been through a lot.
"Hi Sophia," he said, his voice soft.
"Jack," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "What are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to talk to you," he said, taking a step closer to her. "Please, can we talk?"
Sophia hesitated, but something in Jack's eyes made her agree. They found a quiet corner and sat down.
"I'm sorry, Sophia," Jack said, looking straight into her eyes. "I know I messed up, and I know it's going to take a lot for you to forgive me. But I want to make things right. I'll do anything, just tell me what I need to do."
Sophia looked at him, tears in her eyes. She could see the sincerity in his words, and a part of her wanted to believe him.
"I don't know if I can trust you again, Jack," she said, her voice shaking. "You hurt me so much, and I don't know if I can go through that again."
"I understand," Jack said, his voice full of emotion. "But please, give me a chance to prove myself. I love you, Sophia, and I'll do anything to make things right."
Sophia looked at him, unsure of what to do. She knew that forgiving him would be difficult, but she also knew that she loved him. She took a deep breath and made a decision.
"Okay, Jack," she said, her voice steady. "I'll give you a chance. But you have to promise me that you'll never hurt me again."
"I promise," Jack said, his eyes shining with hope
Next Sophia decide return back to jack office and work there.
As they walked down the street, Sophia felt a strange mix of emotions. She was happy to be with Jack, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
As they reached the restaurant, Jack pulled out a chair for Sophia and ordered a bottle of wine. They talked and laughed, but Sophia couldn't help but think about Emily.
"Are you okay?" Jack asked, noticing the tension in Sophia's body.
"I don't know, Jack," Sophia said, taking a sip of her wine. "I'm just worried that Emily might try to come between us."
"I understand your concerns, Sophia, but I promise you, Emily means nothing to me. You're the only one I care about," Jack said, taking her hand.
Sophia smiled, feeling reassured by Jack's words. They continued their meal, enjoying each other's company and forgetting about their troubles for a while.
After dinner, Jack walked Sophia back to her apartment. As they stood outside her door, he leaned in for a kiss, but Sophia pulled away.
"I can't, Jack. Not tonight," she said, pulling away.
"Why not?" Jack asked, looking confused.
"I don't know, I just can't," Sophia replied, opening the door to her apartment.
As she closed the door, Sophia felt a pang of regret. She knew that she had hurt Jack's feelings, but she just couldn't bring herself to be intimate with him.
Meanwhile, Jack felt frustrated and confused. He didn't understand why Sophia was pushing him away. He decided to give her some space and time to sort out her feelings.
Over the next few days, Sophia tried to shake off her worries and focus on her work. She went to the office, but she couldn't concentrate. Her mind kept drifting to Jack and the unanswered questions that were weighing on her
