Chapter 7: Ghosts

I land on the roof of the base as I can hear the sound of an important meeting taking place.

Y/n: "And with that, the Shinto faction has joined the fray~"

Another individual lands behind me and kneels down.

Great Red: "Master, you've returned"

Y/n: "I have. Do you have news for me?"

Great Red: "I do. It seems that we've gathered information on the snakes that Ophis released just before you made her your subject"

Y/n: "Oh, and where are their locations?"

Great Red: "They've found hosts"

I stop and slowly turn to the Dragon God behind me.

Y/n: "They found hosts?"

Great Red: "Yes master. There were a total of 8 snakes that flew out of her body. Those 8 found 8 individuals who've become superhuman"

Y/n: ".. Tell me more"

We enter the home and go to my office where we can speak more privately.

Y/n: "Go on"

Great Red: "Yes. *clears throat* The 8 snakes all went out and found 8 people. However, they seem to have been specifically chosen"

Y/n: "How are you so sure that it was?"

Great Red: "When all of the snakes flew, Ophis could of sniffed them out, but she said that something was stopping her from doing so"

Y/n: "Perhaps she put a seal on herself before she was turned into my slave. I could always just remove it.."

A smile grew on my face as Great Red tilted his head.

Great Red: "Master?"

"She couldn't have chosen the targets that quickly. If what Great Red is saying is true, then that means someone else must have controlled them in her stead.."

I begin chuckling to myself as I look out the window.

Y/n: "So we are truly battling fate itself as well~? I'm all for it"

I rise up from my chair and walk over to the window while Great Red looks towards me in confusion.

Great Red: "What do you mean master?"

Y/n: "This world works like a story Red. A hero must exist and I am now their opposite, the Villain. Fate must never be changed for it brings chaos into the mix. Fate. A linear line that is set for this universe that is not to be tampered with"

I grab a glass from my desk and chuckle.

Y/n: "Issei Hyoudou will absolutely win. It is destiny for him to become this universe's champion"

Great Red: "I will not allow that-!!"

I lift my hand up to stop him in his tracks.

Y/n: "My presence has driven it off its tracks, and so has my actions.. I believe you when you said something or someone had set a course for the snakes to reach to destined hosts"

Great Red: "You do?"

I nod as I look up to the sky.

Y/n: "What I spoke about fate was true. It must not be messed with, for it can bring in sever consequences to the person who destroyed it, and its fitting that it has to come from a higher power. Even higher than a Dragon God"

Great Red: "Higher than one of us 3?"

Y/n: "Yes~ and I'm looking forward towards their next move. I assume they have created new heroes to step in my way, but I will stomp them as well.. Red, it seems that my dream will come true after all once I've won!!"
